Hi,
In my understanding, rooting via Root De La Vega will keep the knox 0x0. If I flash custom recovery, the knox will trip to 0x1. My question is - can i do a nandroid backup and restore without custom recovery?

URDLV only applicable for bootloader MJ1 and below, anything above it will trip the knox

Without the custom recovery you won't be able to do a nandroid backup. But the knoxout script got a command for backup, maybe you can as our virgin head alexng2208 to try it out

Backup is easy with onandroid. Restoring is another matter. Dun think anyone tried it on note 3 without a custom recovery.

I am still at MJ1.  Have switched off 'Software Auto Update' when I first bought my Note3.

Why is it?

That's why I said should ask alex to try it out. After all the phone won't explore if anything goes wrong, just tripped knox only mar tongue.gif

Hi i'm not sure if anyone notice this:

Google maps kept saying they have the option to save the offline maps with this feature, but i can't see it at all.

Attached Image

Also the shortcut that typing "OK Maps" doesn't work either, it'll show "pre-loading not available at this area"

Please advice? thanks you.

So far I don't need root yet. Even Note 3 with those S Apps (bloatware) still perform well enough thumbup.gif

Removing bloatware is like the bottom most priority to root for me. I need root mainly to make/restore backups, improve phone usability and theming.

Finally got my UAG case today. My super short review: the build quality is well done, slimmer than Otterbox, but kinda stylish rugged.
