I'm planning to buy this PSU online
http://www.techhypermart.com/cooler-master...-apac-only.html

Can anyone tell me if this is a good PSU?

The price seem to be quite cheap, only RM299 with 80plus gold certification!! hmm.gif

for HD7970 I'd recommend getting a PSU with at least 600W, not that the 550W can't support it but it's safer to allow some headroom so that you have ample power to perform overclocking or future upgrades

besides that there are other options in the market such as the FSP Raider 650W for RM269, rated at 80+ silver but very highly recommended nod.gif

yes it's good but it's only 550W...

If TS is planning to get high end card...
better get at least 600W just to be on the safe side and doesn't stress the PSU that much...

bro, watts is not for all. important is +12v (mean single rail) hv over 48A... however ur like EXP:" psu is 550w with +12v 48A compare with 700w with +12v 1 20A +12v 2 20A or 700w +12v 40A = of course the 550w with +12v 48A is can handle as well." becos most current usage is counts in "amps".

this psu is good with gold cef..but better go for 600w with 80 % bronze cef or higher for future upgrade.

here is ur psu details here : http://www.cowcotland.com/articles/1384/te...o-gold-550.html

and here some help for amps convert to watts : http://www.rapidtables.com/convert/electri...amp-to-watt.htm

hmm.gif Made by FSP, according to this site:
http://realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page364.htm

...and considering it has Japanese main caps (as well as secondary), it looks like a pretty solid unit so far...
http://uk.hardware.info/reviews/4869/10/co...gold-conclusion
http://translate.google.com/translate?dept...0-watt-im-test/

Not to mention this unit is based on FSP's Aurum platform... The exact same platform for Be Quiet E9 PSUs.... icon_idea.gif

The downside? The noisy PSU fan of course... tongue.gif
