Hello everyone,

I'd been planning to get Xbox One since its release about 2 years, if I am not mistaken. I really like its design, its UI, its Kinect features and also Microsoft commitment with its Console. I actually really like the once Game-Sharing features during the initial announcement of XboxOne but due to some political and/or "Fansboy vs Whatever" issue, it got dropped out.

I don't really follow PS news, but I always feel the now underdog Microsoft's commitment to Xbox One Consoles is no doubt and the recent features about Game Streaming to Windows 10 and 360 Games Backward Compatibility are superb awesome!

Now, the question is like any other typical gadget-buy question. Should I buy one now? Especially with Windows 10 coming to Xbox One in a few more weeks. Also, with Year End coming. Can I expect more deal?

Xbox Singapore is running quite a good deal now. For selected Xbox One purchase, could get 2 Games for Free - Sunset Overdrive and Zoo. Also, additional 25% Off for Controller and $20 Off for Xbox Live Gold 12 Months. I hope I didn't get the details wrong. Currently, got web error when trying to enter Microsoft Store SG of Xbox. Weird. Anyway, for Xbox One watcher here - is the current deal great? Or normally, end of the year will be much better?

I probably going to get the Kinect Bundle in Black, with Master Chief Collection but some part of me, like to got for the 1TB Forza due its clean blue design. I don't really like the Halo 5 Console, except its Controller though. I really like to have the Kinect to have the amazing full Xbox One experience. Can Astro be hook up and control with voice?
*
Not sure about the deals in Asia. Typically, other countries like US and UK will have Christmas/New Year deals, with markdowns/bundles/freebies. As for Windows 10, all Xbox One consoles will be getting it once it goes live, so it wouldn't really matter when to get it.

I never really tried using Astro on it, but from what I understand, the TV provider needs to be in the list of supported providers for it to work.

If I can give a tip, why don't you try buying Live subscription from cdkeys.com? They are quite a bit cheaper than other places. I now buy subscriptions and even games from them sometimes.

Zero customs tax. Items were shipped to a US address and then forwarded to Malaysia.

The Elite controller has a nice heft and weight to it, and that weird looking directional pad? It's a godsend for fighting game nut like me, I can ditch using the KI fight stick for this. Precise and really sensitive. The joystick head that you can switch out to longer lengths results in a much more accurate movements especially in racing games, you tend to move less with little force now. Still trying to figure out how to do custom button maps to the back pedal-like buttons, they're mapped automatically to the same functions as the front buttons. Xbox Accessories app isn't much help though on this.

Ooo nice. I got used to playing KI with the standard controller, but the gamepad still isn't sensitive enough to register input sometimes. Macam kalau nak transition Jago linkers into DP ender atau Ultra sometimes tak jadi. That's the reason I got a Hori Hayabusa instead.

Hi Sifu,

I am currently in US.  Coming home on 3Dec 2015.
Black Friday Sales will take place this Thanksgiving day starting 26 Nov.  Predicted price for Xbox One 500gb bundle with free games like Fallout 4 etc will be USD300.00. Maybe cheaper as can buy from COSTCO using daughter membership card.  What I want to know will I kena tax if bring back to Malaysia and what about the voltage compatibility when use in Malaysia.  Also is the console region free so games bought in Malaysia can also play.

Many thanks in advance.
*
If you declare the Xbox, there's a chance you might taxed. But you can just leave it in your luggage, normally they won't ask to check.

You'll definitely need to have a stepdown converter before you can use it though. But I hear you can actually change the power brick to the Asian one, if you don't want to deal with a stepdown converter.

As for games, Xbox One discs are region free, unlike the OG Xbox / 360 discs.

Haven't seen it locally yet. The only way to find one for now is to buy overseas or online. I'm also trying to buy it, but Amazon US somehow doesn't ship it to Malaysia.

Just wondering if it is worth to get Xbox one bundle all the way from US regardless the warranty claim?  Thinking about getting a set from US during Black Friday sales.  There is no counterfeit so far, right?
*
Counterfeit? Not that I heard of, unless you count those China consoles that looks like an Xbox One. If price is cheap, go for it. Just remember to use a stepdown converter when using it here.

Hey guys, I'm not very familiar with xbox. But recently I bought an xbox one for my little cousin.
The console came with Halo included but not the CD, just the serial key.

The problem is his internet in Seremban is terrible and he only managed to download 25% so far after 3 weeks.
I'm wondering if its possible to download from my pc. My internet is good, and they provided me the serial key.

Please help guys, thanks.
*
I think it's possible to just copy over the downloaded files from a different console. Meaning, on the console, just claim the game key, but don't install. Then, copy the game files from another console into an external hard drive, and copy from the external hard drive to your cousin's console.

Hello,

Apologize if this is the wrong section. I bought the X-Box 360 controller for my PC about 2 years ago. The controller is now broken but the adapter is still working fine. Is it possible for me to just buy an X-box 360 controller instead of buying a new set + the adapter? Will the controller be compatible with the adapter?

Thanks in advance
*
Do you mean you were using a wireless Xbox 360 controller with a wireless adapter on PC? Sure you can. I normally have the opposite problem. I've had 2 adapters that died on me, but the controllers are still ok.

Gonna get a used og XBONE tomorrow for RM450. Is it a good deal and any issues I should look out for?
*
The first Xbox One? The VCR sized one? My own unit is now considered sluggish to use. Not sure if it's the hardware, the hard disk or what. Just trying to navigate menus is already troublesome. That unit was from 2014. My Xbox One X from 2017 is still ok. Personally it would be better if you can find an Xbox One S instead. It plays the same games, has a 4K Bluray drive, and is more recent. But for RM450 it's not a bad price.

Dammmn... after 2 and a half years my GP ultimate is expiring!

I think this is what I have to do to resub at the most cost effective rate - let the ultimate expire, stack 3 years Gold, convert to GPU.

Couple of questions because i've never let my gold lapse - What happens with the Games with Gold XB1 games - do you lose them permanently or do you get them back when you resubscribe to gold?

Also, where's cheapest for annual gold codes?
*
I have never let my Gold expire since 2014 or so, and dare not to. But on PS, you lose your games if your PS Plus expires. Happened to a friend of mine. He forgot to keep track of his subscription, and one day he realized his games library can't be played anymore. Even after he re-subscribed.
