Putting microtransaction in a $60 game is just ridiculous and it is even more expensive than most mobile games IAP.
He said "Gran Turismo 6's microtransactions are entirely optional; players can also unlock in-game credits through completing races and challenges as in past games. "
Indirectly its optional for you to "Pay 2 Win".. else, you can still slowly grind your way there.. meh~
I just wish that they will just bring FF9 and FF Tactics onto Steam as well.
On the microtransactions, if any of the games are reliant on it - I am not buying it and I am definitely going uncle Jack route if I want to play it. I am already pissed with DLCs last time but now they are adding microtransactions onto games? LoL, so much for consoles till they hit low ball pricing.
defend also no use.. if in the end proven wont work.. ppl wont buy then it will die natural death but if majority of ppl buys into it, they will continue this practice.. we do wat we must do.. boycott iap

Dude after making my own research and playing the game already(GT6).. I must tell you it's the same like GT5. GT5 is well known for grinding to earn cash for new cards and GT6 is also the same in that respect. There is no difference the microtransaction part are optional and if you are super lazy you pay la. The game is completely the same as GT5 just with an option to pay for cars in real cash instead of in-game cash.(This are option for rich people only) Play like normal and you can still get the car.
No need to complain. It's entirely the same game. Don't wanna buy PS4? lol! Your lost Boycott? Boycott la you want. Your lost for not playing GT6

They always defend it by saying its "optional" while the truth is, you'll never know how optional are they until you dump 30 to 40 hours in. And most of the time, they will reduce the races payoff to encourage people to grind more if not pay up for the car immediately. I do not trust these large companies to handle microtrasactions properly. DLCs are bad enough in some cases but at least there are a finite number of DLCs to buy, microtransactions are infinite where you can keep buying it again and again which they hope that you get hooked to the instant gratification so that it becomes a habit of you keep buying it.
EA even said the microtrasactions in Real Racing 3 are optional too. Including that overpriced 800 Gold(123USD in real money) Agera R that is literally pay to win but you only can use it for 1-2 races before you need to wait 4 and 1/2 hours for it to "repair".
Aint gonna touch games with microtrasactions. It is just an exploitative business model made to profit these companies without providing any benefits to gamers.

So GT6 is nearly the same with GT5 and you're still buying it?
Paying $60 for something that's the same as previous version.

I'm now comparing it with GT5 and 6. Playing through a few races to see if I can get the same amount of cash to own the same car in both games.

This is childish. The same as in how you can own the car without microtransaction. We are talking about microtransaction here not about the whole game damnit. Please read and stick to the topic.
1000+ cars more than GT5 is enough and races, sounds and tracks are not the same with more things to offer.
Haters gonna hate. Come to GT thread and i'll talk there even more.

can u pay for the "repair" to speed up? actually 1000 hrs still optional.. its optional else spend 1000 hrs and get it.. they are not selling content.. they selling to ppl who is willing to cheat with money.. money buy short cut.. its happening everywhere.. money buy qualification, money buys u out of troubles etc.. prevalent in this generation not jus in gaming. iap gaming is not gaming for reward.. u can get the reward by paying.. its actually similar last time we hex edit the game and get all the reward but now u can pay to access it.. and nowadays games update online.. can even change the reward per game to lengthen or shorten the time required on the fly..

Dude...You just said it's entirely the same game and I was just stating the fact you are buying a game which made no changes or improvement based on what you said. And you're calling me childish?

Aint gonna trust them as they can just release a patch to halve all the races and challenges payoff because investors demands higher dividends from shares. Just like what happened to GTAV where they nerfed the payoff of missions because they like to "encourage people to play other events".
At the same time, why the hell I want to play a racing game that is all about grinding? I didnt sign up for a second job in a video gane as I play games for fun, not grind it day and night to unlock that ridiculously priced Jaguar XJ13 for "free". Adding microtrasactions just put me off entirely. At the same time, GT5 had one of the worst driving sensation i ever experienced in a racing game, as the cars felt way too stiff and grippy while sense of speed literally doesnt exist at all, even I'm in a Mclaren.
On the other hand, when PC is getting racing games like Project CARS which is made with passion, not just for money and get rich quickly by songlap people's money with microtrasactions. I'll stick with that instead until they lost their ethics.
I dont see that not owning a next gen console is a loss, considering both camps are on board with shitty microtrasaction practices while PC still have its massive libraries of exclusives and strange but interesting games. My money goes to people who genuinely wants to develop great games, not people who only wants to make money by making games to exploit the playerbase.

What 2K did to GTAV Online and NBA 2k14 really worries me about Firaxis. I hope they arent forcing Firaxis to shove microtrasactions into their future games.
