Photoshop's ACR does the same thing as LR... actually the LR engine is based off the ACR. Whatever you get in LR, you will get in ACR too.I saw a lot of RAW users using LR, which is why I asked this question I've been using PS for years, so I found out nothing is wrong with PS for RAW Anyway, who went to CF today? |

QUOTE(asrul @ Dec 26 2013, 07:29 AM) basically which one you guys prefer. Desktop + calibrated IPS monitor is way faster if you don't need the mobility. I have a rMBP 15" late 2013 model... it feels slow compared to my desktop which I bought last year. (And the desktop was way cheaper mac / macbook pro or just a laptop / desktop + calibrated monitor? |

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Dec 26 2013, 09:54 AM) Guys, very tempting with prime lens right now. Get the f/1.8G as it would be able to AF! Besides the f/1.8G is better with smoother bokeh (if that's what you're looking at for the prime lens).Nikon AF 50mm/1.8D vs Nikon AF-S 50mm/1.8G. RM4XX vs RM7XX Motor vs no motor. For my D3200. |

QUOTE(f5calvin @ Dec 26 2013, 11:28 AM) Not bad, looks good too.QUOTE(f5calvin @ Dec 26 2013, 11:32 AM) get G.. sharper, faster, colour is nicer. I don't think its sharper, ex user of f/1.8D and currently owns a f/1.8G. Actually I regret spending the extra bucks changing to f/1.8G. But to those without a 50mm now, the f/1.8G is a better buy. f/1.8D to f/1.8G, not worth it.bt why not get 35mm 1.8G? (50mm on d3200 is quite hard to shoot really) 35mm is much better (what amduser had been telling me last time bt i still bought 50mm ended up selling away n got a 35mm) if want more bokeh 85mm 1.8G la. QUOTE(asrul @ Dec 26 2013, 11:39 AM) I'm on i7-3770K and 16GB RAM with SSD. The rMBP I got is also a quad core... but much slower clock at 2GHz, not sure if i7 or i5 |

QUOTE(f5calvin @ Dec 26 2013, 01:14 PM) Based on my experience, err... similar? Haha! 58mm is pain, and image quality not what I expected after pixel peeing at those 100% samples... I still like my 35mm or 85mm more hehe. 50mm I only bring for mobility... in this case I prefer the light and tiny 50mm f/1.8G over the gigantic 58mm.QUOTE(coolkwc @ Dec 26 2013, 01:35 PM) Thanks for ur 'campur tangan'...ur advise is welcomed and appreciated. If you can stretch your budget, the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art is asrul yeah, tried before, 35mm is more suitable for me. I thought the reason u recommend 35mm over 50mm is something related to quality... Anyway, thanks u guys opinion, i adi changed my mind to 35mm instead. The reason i want to get the prime lens is the small size and light weight, and also i more interested on street photography & capalang photo like jepertine90. Will try hunt for it. Any non-Nikon prime lens to recommend? PS: Is it 'dangerous' to buy lens from garage sales? Via postage... |

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Dec 26 2013, 01:46 PM) Guys, here i want to share something regarding aperture size. Yeap, that's why aperture is always states as f/xx which means respectively 18/3.5 and 55/5.6.http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/great-high...performance.htm Please refer to 'math refresher' there. Seems like the aperture size = FL/xx is true like what i mentioned last time. Just i can't figure out why zoom lens is darker at the zoom end. Becos based on the calculation, aperture diameter of 18mm f/3.5 is smaller than 55mm f/5.6... |

QUOTE(f5calvin @ Dec 26 2013, 01:52 PM) Those new Sigma is impressive, glad to see a third party like Sigma stepping up their game to put pressure on Nikon!QUOTE(coolkwc @ Dec 26 2013, 01:54 PM) As far as I know, the light going through is measured by aperture size, in this case focal length / number.Don't really know how to explain but what I know is the longer the focal length, the bigger aperture as there will be light loss along the barrel before arriving at the sensor. 18/3.5 is brighter because its f/3.5. Take a prime for example, f/1.4 or f/8 brighter? And next is 35mm f/2.8 vs. 200mm f/2.8 is expected to be the same... but as usual they won't and the 200mm tend to be darker due to more light loss along the barrel. |

QUOTE(f5calvin @ Dec 26 2013, 02:03 PM) Yeah, T-stop is usually used by WAY more expensive lens like the cinematic lens. T-stop is measured by the actual light going to the sensor, where else f-stop is basically based on the opening size.Example of a very high end uber awesome lens, aperture might be f/1.4, t-stop maybe 1.6 but a crap lens, might be doing something like f/2.8 perhaps due to major light loss. |

QUOTE(gunzerdude @ Dec 26 2013, 10:28 PM) Yep, you can actually order the whole set off of ebay, but the hand grip part can't be done on your own tho. Since the body needs to be partially dismantled to loosen it. The hand grip actually no need open up, the screw access from the battery bay as I watched the video before The thumb grip, bottom and sides can la, since they're just stuck on. About the glue, it's basically just double sided tape. If it was cured glue, will be extremely difficult to take off 1, even for the technicians. Here's a picture of the inside |

QUOTE(gunzerdude @ Dec 26 2013, 10:59 PM) I'm waiting for this to replace my 35mm F2D also Well, my D700 went through the rain a few times before... so... hmm... where else my D800 is still a pretty good haven't went under the rain much haha!Ooh, even better then, now I know I can fully replace the grip myself d The ones made by Nikon probably using a better type of tape that's UV activated then. Still doesn't prevent them from peeling off over time tho. |
