Reconfigure your keyboard.

Settings > Language & Input > Xperia Keyboard > Settings Button > Personalization

Scroll through the options until you reach "Additional Keys", untick "Period & Comma Keys"

And about the problem where it auto append ".", I suppose that is from some auto-complete function enabled. Look through your keyboard settings and disable those as well.

Yes ... this has been discussed over and over. The battery will decrease if your usage exceeds the charge rate. You will face this common if you are running something heavy on the phone while charging over USB or whatever that is less than 1000mAh.
