use windows 8. less than 10 secs.
windows 7 is generally more 'heavier' than windows 8.

or use RAID 0.

20 secs is the standard speed for a w7 cold boot with ssd. to have 10-sec boot install w8.x. raid0 will have further delays during POST. (raid0 means combine 2x identical hdd/ssd to become one drive; more speed and iops) in real life usage, not much difference.

also, there is no significant difference in boot time between uefi and bios mode. (well bios boot is slower imo)

oo ic..thanks for the good info bro... notworthy.gif

actually i deleted my windows 8 due to lack of compatibility with many software and decided to use win 7 ultimate...
i think later will try uefi boot n observe if there any differences in booting time.. icon_rolleyes.gif

UEFI vs bios boot. Definitely UEFI takes the cake. It's significantly faster, IMO. Maybe difference is minimal. But u can feel it definitely.

As for RAID-0 setup, the only benefit of RAID-0 is in gaming when u r playing open world games. Compared to single drive, the transition loading between sections is seamless. The other obvious benefit in RAID-0 is reduction of loading times for apps but this one is hard to see.

As for Windows booting time, u can't do much by changing ur setup. It will definitely be faster but comparing side by side between Windows 8 and 7, Windows 8 will always prevail bcos of how the way that Windows 8 handles the operations within the inside. In other words, better architecture.

If zat_90s really wanted to reduce the loading times on Windows 7, I recommend RAID-0 4 SSDs. Yet again, comes down to cost and also max bandwidth that ur motherboard supports.

My only final conclusion is if u really wanted that superior boot time, change to Windows 8 instead of sticking to Windows 7. That would be the cheapest alternative that u can find at this moment.

ok so i need to change to win8 UEFI later.. haha.. drool.gif

finally managed to solve my client's M17x R2 screen issue.
actually the faulty part is just the graphics card sitting, resit the graphics card and blue vertical lines gone. now works like charm. sweat.gif
