Played Counter Strike: Global Offensive on default settings, did not tweak anything from the menu, and it stutters. Any recommended settings for awesome gameplay experience?

I don't know why, but my games are stuttering whilst just at default settings/optimized settings via NVIDIA Experience. I'm afraid the Alienware 14 has been using the Intel Graphics card instead of the NVIDIA card whilst gaming. How do I force the system to always use NVIDIA?
