yes, ssd runs cooler than hdd in general so it helps (due to its characteristics such as no moving parts, much less power draw). previously i had a weird experience with intel 520. it generated more heat than usual in an r4; solved with bios update. (i still don't know what caused the abnormal heat). for the rest of ssd brands (tested with samsung 830 and 840 pro, plextor m5pro xtreme, crucial m500), it's usual to have 33+ c but normally not more than 40c.

however please bear in mind that heat dissipation in laptops also depends on many other factors.

edit: correction - plextor drives have no sensor so i couldn't check their temperatures. however one of my laptops is running 2x plextor m5pro xtreme and a m5m msata ssd. no overheating issues.

yeah a cooling pad helps, too. i have a coolmaster u3 and x3. u3 is more flexible so i position all fans to the intakes lol! x3 is a huge fan blowing the whole bottom of laptop.

Nope, not there at all. It was loose to start with, so I didn't had any difficulty like the first time removing it.

So far, to hold the screws in, I had to used those white colored tape called "thread seal tape" where people tend to wrap it around pipes for leakage and so. 

And that advice came from one of the repairmen from a repair shop. Another shop told me that they could just glue it, which I find too risky and what if I had to remove it the next time right?.

So I guess getting that part itself is quite impossible, unless changing the whole piece. Parts are just kinda hard to find down here at JB. Maybe there's a possibility in KL?

That's why I have doubt getting AW18 and end up with 17. Plus the most frequent game I play is Titanfall. Cap at 60 fps  only

note: this is a lesson learned when you have all the stuff around you, but you don't actually test it yourself (taking everything for granted)

the 330W adapter actually works very well with m17x r4, without any mod. the bios detects the adapter as 330W, and the battery charging is working fine.

why use a higher-power adapter? it provides more juice to your system, especially when you overclock cpu/gpu, and put everything into full use (all hdd slots are full with ssd/hdd, including hdd caddy; ram slots are full with 4x8gb ram, etc.)

yes for m17x r4 it's just .inf mod. for aw17, that cannot even be called as 'working', like what those card sellers are advertising.

M15x can be work, but need to disable the IDT Audio. The audio just conflict with NVidia driver. M15x, M17x R2, M17x R3 all have same problem.

COz I tried to upgrade GTX 860M in M15x before. It couldn't work unless I disable the IDT Audio in the bios.
