Will they come out with new aw14?

imo for those who wanna customize stuff and take risks by themselves, aw is not ideal. however for gaming and common usage purposes, i actually think it's still good to go for some times. 4980hq, 16gb ram and 980m are fine for these things. to many 16gb of ram is still excess hehe

taking into accounts of dell warranty service, i think it's still a viable option for normal users.

it's too bad they take away 2x ram slots and use sata-based m.2 slots. i need more processing power and speed so that i can get things done faster during work.
i think it's better to follow the current settings and find compatible gpu's, or maybe consult dell about this.

no it's not about worth it or not, it's because there are already a number of other brands offer the slot already. you can still make the similar speed with 4x sata-based m.2 ssd raid0 if you want (to me it's a waste of some sata slots).

to some extents, you're right, maybe people will feel upset because of this. however, they will most probably not get pcie ssd's because of the price.

it is not only about customization, it also the lifespan of it. if customization is an option, the laptop could survive for at least 4-6 years. Take a look at the old M15X, it is still there and kicking ass. someone in NBR just tossed in a GTX980M and it feels brand new again. Also, BGA's durability is very low. Because it is soldered, the soldered part tends to break in time due to the heat generated from usage. This is why the quality will not last and it also a way to force dumb consumers to buy a new one a soon as it breaks. it a part breaks, the who motherboard has to be changed.

To me, it has become a recycle laptop. Break toss away and buy new one.

how about 4x m.2 ssd and 1x hdd for 17r2? (15 has 2x m.2 slots)
