Technical do my sony plasma support HD ?, Sony KE-MX42 support HD?

my house have a Sony KE-MX42, the manual information state that it can support 1028*1028 resolution.
i really dont get this figure, is it a 720p or 1080i ?
please correct me.

Yours should be HD-compatible. But not true HD.

true hd is is 1080p like the 70" HD-ILA tv from JVC

but 1080p and 1080i's difference can only be seen if the tv is above 50".If not interlaced or progressive they look the same smile.gif

What I mean by true HD is, it's not just the number of vertical lines, but horizontal as well. So a minimum would normally be 1366x768 panel, with square pixel size instead of the traditional rectangular pixels.

1080P = TrueHD <-- this is Sony's bollocks way of saying it.
