actually neck issue shouldnt matter too much if it falls within a certain range...somewhere between 50s thick and ibz pencil neck.
afterall, most guitarists when asked can never answer the question of how thick exactly a neck they want...
*
other factor would include, aesthetically i hate the les paul shape ahaha such a blasphemy for a guitarist to say so, but even after i picked up an esp eclipse once, im not sold, not so much just the neck, maybe my mind already shut off my mind to it.

on separate note, i think i can really tell the diff between a jackson and ibanez wizard neck . but if between the Jackson and my strat not so much.

them aanj wizard is really superb especially if set on low action. though i find that on sweep arpeggios it will produce less clarity when playing cause of the low action? ahaha maybe its just me, my sifu always contradict with me on that one.

yea LP shape is something thats not so comfortable lying in bed to play, just like a tele tongue.gif
jackson necks in general are slightly thicker...probably something like a PGM neck where its 22mm thick instead of the ibz wizards that are like 18mm.

PGM necks are thicker? Wow.. good to know, too bad Im not too fond of his signatures.

Im hoping SweeLee would be bringing plenty of LPs in, so maybe I could find "the one" there.

The fireman neck feels good to me. Even the neck on my grg170m (maple neck/maple fretboard) is on the thicker side. Prefer it than the normal wizard necks tbh

i did owned an rg 321 i think last time fixed bridge . the neck was a dream to say the least when compared to my santa cruz. sometimes its the thought of having premium guitar which led to expectations or delusional thoughts of how good a guitar actually is.

but when you owned them or play them often enough, um id say you could tell whether the necks are right for you or not regardless of the price you pay for it.

the injector and area pups?
haha we tend to avoid single coils by dimarzios right?
but having said that i have a red velvet on my ibby, it is a pretty fine single coil can get tasty middle plus neck hum sweet ej tones if i add the fuzz and delay right.
ur fralins probably better.
um but i myself am not too into single coils that much myself.
i do have an interest in timmons cruisers though.
just cause he's such a kick-ass player.

Yeah the injectors. I like the areas but Injectors seems to be quite hot, so dunno how much of the single coily-ness was lost. But even guys like Keith Urban uses them. I like Andy Timmons but also never tried AT1 or the cruisers.

Fralins are great actually Im retracting the sale haha

yeah i think them single coils is the staked one to cancel the hum (hum cancelling pups i think is what they call it)
so one would imagine that it s humbucking in a way but rather the orientation is changed sideways if it makes any sense lol.

and pg defo doesnt look likes the type who goes for the twangcaster sounds himself.

and the new model is actually equipped with air classic i think?
he's pretty fickle minded himself.

We will be bring plenty of LPs smile.gif smile.gif website photos coming soon!

The latest 2014 models have just arrived and some of them are beautiful!

Here's a sneak peek... I hope this doesn't come across as advertising but any time you guys need to know anything about CCs or Les Pauls or prices etc - don't hesitate to drop me a message! We also have some great used Gibsons for guys on a budget...

+1 on CC #8 - one of the best Les Pauls I personally have ever played - the best being #2 Goldie HANDS DOWN rclxub.gif

Btw - we had a customer buy a fake CC in Malaysia recently so be careful guys!

Also - one of the guys earlier was talking about neck sizes - there is a BIG diffference in Les Paul neck sizes and it really is a case of finding "the one" - but most of the common understandings are true like 57s having a chunky neck. I personally like the 60s Slim Necks but we know a lot of guys who swear by the sustain of the thicker neck...

We're going to start helping to measure depth and width to make it easier for guys to feel the difference and find what they are looking for! thumbup.gif

There must be variations between 50s and 60s neck? I didnt really like both in the ones i tried.

Is there any LP with a slight V neck at the headstock side and big fat U at the bottom?

theres 50s rounded, 59, 60s slim taper, 70s, asymmetrical.
from thick, medium, thin, narrow, and uhh asymmetrical...
no such neck exists unless you're bold enough with sandpaper on a 50s neck.

oh ya, there are some models with a soft V neck i tried...but its not a common gibson one.
