no advantage.
just that SG is the closest sort of production model there is to a vintage '63-65.
now to get something like that has to be VOS / custom shop.
the usual '61 reissues and current 2014 SG standards are different.

i got normal spaced tonezone instead of f-spaced as advertised.. thats what u get sometimes with ebay..

honestly, not really a big diff right? just some minor volume drop on 1st and 6th string right?

if i`ll just move up the pole of those 2 strings a lil bit. it should be okay right?

right?

um i've read that debate b4 and majority will say the f spaced and non f spaced, or g spaced hath no diff in volume drop or tones. that's what i read la u can do your own research on it, and i think seymour duncan is trembucker? haha crazy names.

I think enough of CCs for me at the moment and decided to go for Joe's Skinner burst instead.
Would like a SG someday but I still can't get used to one

Here's my take

CC 1 - medium neck, comes with out of phased pickups
CC 4 - medium comfortable neck, lively and articulate sounding (CustomBucker pickups)
CC 8 - slightly bigger medium neck, hotter and more aggressive bite (CustomBurstbucker 2 & 3). also very articulate.
R8 - chunkier neck, good sounding guitar but not as define as the CCs
BFG - Wide 50s neck, no finish literally on everything. Very raw. Love the middle position (P90s and BB3)
Faded Studio - 50s necks, comfy maybe due to no finish and no frills. overall darker sounding
'08 Standard - Asymmetrical neck, modern hardwares. Good guitar, does the job but not as refine as reissues.

Good info! Do you have a favourite among those? On playability and tone.

Regarding F space or not, its really not an issue, some guitars with slanted pickups are even more misaligned.

Now some of you guys mentioned LPs, insta-creation ideas came to mind

LP Oxblood in PRS SC form
>aged nitro finish
>no pickguard
>oxblood on flame maple top, natural binding

would look great playing progs and metal. damn moolahs.

Hah I wish they can be easily made or custom build for cheap.

I'm truly amazed when I see people DIY a Les Paul or archtop guitars. They are hard to do right.. and these people do it with only hand tools. notworthy.gif

I'm having volume drop on my high E string. Could it be because of the pole position? hmm.gif

Am using SD P-rails on Tele Deluxe.

tube amps also suck, thers this place i go jam that uses the JMD:1

that thing sounds like crap dialing it is a nightmare, i cant seem to push the power amp and the preamp stage seems to dominate everything.

and worse, it doesnt sound like a marshall

maybe i noob duno how to dial it in
