 Networking degree, How is the future?

u seems very interested to wat subject a networking degree consist of.
networking is not a small piece of cake ok?
as a networking graduates, we hv strong knowledge in TCP/IP,
routers, switches, firewall, server, voip gateway configuration, network design, security policy and so on.

not really focus on programming bcoz we r more on hardware which require intensive hands on experinece. unlike programmer, we cant practice our skill in front of our own computer, we need to deal with those enterprise network equipment in order to gain experience!

sometimes the job description might overlap with system engineer which is more focus on the system (client/server) configuration. but a pure network engineer must hv strong skill is routing and switching.

in conclusion, networking degree, hard to get hands on experience. bcoz those equipment is very very expensive!

try ur best to find practical environment, networking is a good degree! as long as Internet exist, the market need networking specialist! smile.gif
