since im still new in ICE.... so i need help from our sifus here....

i wanna to run my system active...
im prefer to use electronic crossover first to play active before upgrade my hu.....
so... the main problem is i don know how to tuning tat electronic crossover...
and i have a few part questions regarding my amp when connected to the electronic crossover...

1. do i need to set the internal crossover for my amp? how much i need to cross? (Front stage)
2. how much i need to set the gain for my amp (Front stage)?
3. wat mode i need to put for my amp... HPF, Full or LPF?
4. Since my electronic crossover dun have band pass... so do i need passive crossover?
4. and how to tuning the electronic crossover...

for u info guys... im using PG rsd series for midbass... 2/3 way kicker crossover = RT-X02A (dun have bandpass)
vifa tweeter, massive audio PA50 amp and entry level pioneer hu which only have 1 preout.......

Thanks In Advance Guys.... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

good equipments you have there

1. do i need to set the internal crossover for my amp? how much i need to cross? (Front stage)
---yes, because your RT-X02A dun have bandpass + limited freq filter range

2. how much i need to set the gain for my amp (Front stage)?
set HU @max volume before clip-----> set RT-X02A @max gain before clip-----> set each amps gain before clip----->final readjust gains@amps to balance speakers output,,,

3. wat mode i need to put for my amp... HPF, Full or LPF?
the midbass amp needs to put LPF + tweeter amp HPF, but amps must able to filter within 1-5khz range

4. Since my electronic crossover dun have band pass... so do i need passive crossover?
if no.3 is doable, you don't need it

4. and how to tuning the electronic crossover...
explore your speakers ability,,,
w/ tweeters, start with 5khz HPF downwards - the lower the more struggle tweeter to play
w/ midbass LPF 2khz onwards + HPF 100hz downwards

thanks for the fast respond from our malutapimau brother...

tat really helpful.....

but what im concern is..... do i need to set the amp frequency exact same value with the electronic crossover frequency..

since my amp only 2 channel... assume tat each channels are for midbass.... then the passive crossover is needed to make the tweeter sound when the crossover hooked together with the midbass....
And the amp should be in mode "Full" right.....correct me if im wrong bro....

any responds are welcome...

if u wanna run system active... u need 4channels of amplification that can HPF/LPF up to 5khz,,
since u have the PA50, you need to find another 2ch amp w/ the above xover function,,,,

Tats mean.... i need 4 channel amp to go fully active.... each channels are for midbass and tweeter..
According to u respond .. the amp will be in full range then the filtering is by electronic crossover.... right bro?
but i gonna to try semi-active system first....
thanks again bro for helping me out...

in u opinion bro..... which one is better 2 way or 3 way?
need to see pro and con.....

because im gonna to upgrade my system next year....

yessss

thats option#1
options#2 is to remove the RT-X02A from ur setup & use the PA50 amp built-in xover (specs seem better),,,
since currently u r subless
pioneer HU----> PA50 amp -----> passive xover ----> vifa tweets + PG mids

but i gonna to try semi-active system first....
how r u gonna source the passive xover

2way

owh.... my bad...
i do have subwoofer..
forgot to mention u bro...
tats why im using electronic crossover since my hu only have 1 preout..

based on my understanding...... i just connected the midbass and the tweeter with passive crossover.... then connect the passive crossover to the amp...

basically like this....

pioneer hu ---> electronic crossover

to

PA50 amp ---> passive xover --> vifa tweets + PG mids
+
2 channel amp ---> subwoofer

since im still student.... so no bonus la for me...
