Guys, need some help in building a PC...been a while since last build one for personal use.

Budget about 2.5 to 3k

Nothing to salvage before.

Purpose: Photoshop and gaming. Mostly into RTS and maybe some FPS

Haven't decide if want to get monitor or not.

Because Xeon is like a i7 lite (minus some non-vital features - iGPU, overclocking and so on) at a cheaper price.

Can still opt for an i5 right if want to be slightly cheaper

You can still opt for an i5.But Xeon and i7 is faster in editing, rendering of photosh and videos cause it has 8 threads,4 more than i5.
If u wanna get a better GPU,you can get i5 4440 3.1 ghz RM569 from viewnet and get the Leadtek GTX760 2GB ddr5 RM849 instead.  icon_idea.gif

Thanks. Actually my photoshop is only very basic editing. So I think the i5 should be sufficient.

If I bump down to i5 and the 650 Leadtek, is it still good? Try to squeeze in the monitor.....or if the monitor can be slightly smaller?

Get Dell S2240L 21.5' RM489.
It's not that good, its decent though, but cant play most games on high settings i guess.
Spend abit more and get Leadtek GTX760 2GB ddr5 RM849.  smile.gif

So a recap, either the Xeon with 650 or the i5 with the 760?
I guess the dell is the best monitor available right?

I got this from Idealnet. Should I just stick to your recommendation then....?

If you stick to my recommendation, you can get Dell S2240L 21.5' RM489 so it kinda fits with the intel xeon e1230 v3 and GTX760 rig i recommended.

so RAM price increases huh? Hmm, don't know that.. Planning to get x1 8GB RAM..

That's what Idealtech told me the other day too....saying that RAM pricing are increased. Viewnet might have stock up the RAMs at a lower price point, hence they could still offer like 229 for Corsair.

Anyways, again thanks to all for recommending a good rig for me....will be collecting it tomorrow....

Guys want to ask something, Im currently running a Hexa 500W PSU and below are my specs, just wondering if it's possible to add another SSD?

i5 4440 3.1G
Asus B85M-G
2 x GSkill 8GB RAM
GTX 760 Leadtek

WD 3.5 1TB HDD
Kingston 120G V300+ SSD
DVD Rom

Feel like adding another SSD. Is it possible?
