Hi guys

I am looking for advice in upgrading my rigs within RM1.5k..+RM5xx for the monitor.

This is my current set up
i) CPU : Intel core i5 2300
ii) Mobo : p67A-UD3
iii) GC : HD5770
iv) PSU : 500W FSP Hexa

Usage : Gaming mostly. Games like diablo3 , AC4 .. and surfing of course

Graphic card : I want to use dual monitor as my GC has one faulty port ( currently using the alternative ones)

Mobo : My optical drive cannot be detected when I installed my SSD. Someone said the cause is my mobo ( on my WTA thread)

I had in mind to buy a U2312HM Dell monitor to go when upgrading.

Any ideas guys?

Your Hexa 500 is sufficient for the GTX 760.

[Budget] Less than RM1k +RM6xx(23'Monitor)

[Purpose] For dual monitor / Gaming while surfing

[Hardwares that will be re-use] 128gb SSD, 1TB HDD, Gigabyte p67A-UD3* , PSU FSP Hexa 500w*, 2x2GB Ram* , i5 2300 intel

[Monitor resolution] 1920x1080
[Games & softwares that use frequently] Diablo3,AC4 and future games

[Personal preferences] NVidia

*Might change if needed

I am using HD5770 for now but it seems like its VGA port is broken (currently using the alternative ones)

And my optical drive is not functioning, either mobo problem or the drive itself.

Thanks guys

Hey bro. thanks for the suggestion

Hmm if I would like to ask, is my CPU still enough?
I had in mind where I want to go for

CPU : i5 4440 -RM569

Mobo : Asrock H81M -RM179

GPU :Zotac/Leadtek GTX760 -RM799

Chassis : NZXT H23 -RM235

Optical drive : Lite-On 24x DVDRW – RM59

Dell U2312HM 23" Monitor - RM629

Or the CPU and mobo are fine? (in my case)

But the cost is 2.5k. About same price if i want to build a new ones. I guess.

I do not think it's worth it to move from i5 2300 (Sandy Bridge) to i5 4440 (Haswell). The gaming performance increment going up to Haswell is very minimal only, as Sandy Bridge is still holding on strong. Haswell's power consumption is slightly better though. nod.gif So, the choice is still entirely up to you.

I see..

I will just go with your suggestion, but with H23.

If budget allows, why not? Slap on a 8GB stick. brows.gif

Go for 2x4gb? or 1x8gb?

It is fine to use 3 channel ram? Never done this with 2+1 channel haha

GPU :Zotac/Leadtek GTX760 -RM799

Chassis : NZXT H23 -RM235

Optical drive : Lite-On 24x DVDRW – RM59

Dell U2312HM 23" Monitor - RM629

RAM : RM200-300

Max price is 2k including monitor

What brand should I go for RAM? Kingston HyperX?

edit: yeah I have 2x2gb DDR3..

A single stick would do. For your case, can just add another 4GB Value RAM would do. biggrin.gif
