how bout those asking for your payslip during interview ?
*
Just say no. There is no need for them to know about your current salary.

They are the one who is hiring and would already have min-max salary budget for the position.

You should be getting more based on years of experiences, but you live in KK, so i think the cost of living there is quite low compare to KL, thus its quite ok la. Lucky you...
*
KK cost of living can be on par with KL. Outside of KK will be lower

Job Title : Assistant Architect? / Architect Intern?
Job Desciption :
Years spent in company : One month
Company : Local firm
Industry : Architecture industry
Tenure : 1 year
Employment Level : Fresh grad (Part 1)
Experience before joining : N/A
Highest paper qualification/ education background : Degree (Part 1 Architecture)
salary : RM1500
Location: KL

Before saying anything, I know I did the wrong move. At first, I only decided to enter this firm as my friend recommended his father's firm. Thus, thinking that I already had a secure job position, I didn't apply to other firms. However, on my first day of job, I just realized the firm treated me as an intern, not a full time employee. I'm not looking for internship, cause I am a full degree graduated student.

For architects out there, is it normal or do I need to find somewhere else? RM1.5k (allowance not salary!) is a joke for a degree graduate. Even sales assistant at cyber cafe downstairs below of my office can earn more for just SPM qualification. The problem is I will be continuing my Part 2 studies within a year, so seeking a full time job for just 7-8 months doesn't sound plausible.
*
have you actually grad? Cause your putting part 1 and 2 is confusing me as if you haven't finish the whole degree how could you consider yourself fresh grad?

QUOTE(tehoice @ Sep 7 2015, 09:26 AM)
the Gen Y nowadays need to see more before commenting OT = inefficient.

they are still fresh, not fully/completely exposed yet. wait till they see more fields and more things before making general statement.

etc, research team usually work round the clock, they start their work after the market closes, prepare research report by 9am next morning. they use their lunch window period to prepare update report before the market re-open by 2.30pm.

in some investment banking line, authorities come back to you at 4-5pm with a 2-3 pages queries sheet and demand clarification by the next morning. means that night you have to work like mad.

Gen Y nowadays want high salary, easy life, easy workload, no OT, sharp sharp leave everyday and any other thing that you can think of.

Put them into that shoes and I guarantee you they will resign in a month's time. Saw that to plenty of people.

Saw even one resign in day 2 cause don't know how to drive around in KL and refuse public transport (in the past daddy mama fetch).
