QUOTE(BRC @ Nov 11 2014, 10:05 PM) well... there is no snr manager post in my comp... You are indeed correct, for front end sales title is important.. You might get a manager title but engineer salary. Nonetheless, O&G salary package are always in different league compare to other industries.managers by actual title are actually leading a group of teams.... can consist anywhere between 50-150 engineers they earn more than double what i get contrary to that.... in our other business sections, the fresh grads are called territory managers but are really junior execs... but these guys do front line sales... so maybe the title is needed... |

QUOTE(fatboy90 @ Nov 13 2014, 01:31 PM) If you are willing to be away from family, with limited phone calls, email & internet. And also limited space for you to move around. But what I heard now Offshore provides better internet accessibility, cosy accommodation, good food.. anyway, Gen Y can survive everyway as long there is internet Started your day at 5am, and all the way until ~10pm for meeting, report, etc. If you get hurt during work, you are 4 hours away from nearest hospital. If something awful happens, you have no where to run other than jumping into the water. If you are ok on the above, you might as well try |

QUOTE(xediox @ Dec 12 2014, 02:14 PM) Job Title : Graduate Engineer ABB is good in the sense that they make your CV looks very good but working environment and growth is all depending in which division you attached to. Not all division are good and salary wise is not as good as other industry (after years of experience). Some department could be very politic too. Anyway after a few year you can choose to move to Siemens, Schneider, Eaton, Rockwell, Emerson etc.. my advise is that during your department rotation, it will be crurial for you to choose the right department. To me as fresh grads with the salary of rm3k is pretty good. Decide your career path after 2-3years in ABB.Job Desciption : Rotate departments to learn and expose to different power industry job scope Years spent in company : 2 weeks only : ABB (MNC) Industry : Power Tenure : Permanent Employment Level : Graduate Engineering Program Experience before joining : 0 year Highest paper qualification/ education background : Bachelor Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (majored in Power) salary : RM3k+ Location: Selangor Hi guys, im a fresh graduate and just started off in a power MNC. Just want to ask some opinions on this job and some advises on how should I plan on my working path. This is because I'm having a mixed feelings looking at how much others are earning monthly/annually. So any kind samaritan could spare some advices? Thanks in advance |

QUOTE(lisiang @ Dec 29 2014, 03:40 PM) Really? I am keep thinking mine is not really good because of no commision They do not expect you to kick off immediately without knowing their product.. Usually for MNC, there is a product team to provide training or to send you oversea/local to brush up your technical knowledge while in parallel your boss or senior will gradually introduce you some of the customer. Your career path will be likely in sales, marketing or business development therefore customer base and market knowledge is crucial to you. You will learn along the way as I believe MNC company will always provide all sort of sales/leadership training. Product knowledge is a plus but not a must if you intend to change job in near future. Give yourself 2years and to decide after that. |

QUOTE(cscw1212 @ Jan 13 2015, 03:56 PM) dunno leh... i seldom go back to HQ... so, i like working alone... no colleagues etc... just concall with manager.... At least you were paid handsomely with more valuable time with family and friends. Unlikely in O&G sector need to go offshore for weeks leaving family behind. You are lucky one. Cheers definitely possible... i multiplied my salary by 10 times in 5 yrs time. |
