Ok since most lowyaters in this thread especially those fresh grads are claiming to earn so much, here are some reality check of the current market right from the biggest salary database in Malaysia.
Sample of O&G Engineer You can check other field here http://myjobstreet.jobstreet.com.my/career...lary-report.php Negotiate how much you could, Human Resources Department still relying on this database and advise your superior/management how much you should be getting. HR definitely not reading this lowyat thread to determine. This post has been edited by chokia: Dec 16 2013, 12:37 AM |

QUOTE(hercules899 @ Dec 16 2013, 10:59 PM) I can straight away tell you that Jobstreet' Salary Sample is HEAVILY skewed towards Employers, which indeed is very unfair to job seekers . Kelly Salary is only a guide which serve only 550k clients, while Jobstreet's has millions with real workers with the real salaries entered their database. The more reliable and accurate source is actually the Kelly Salary Guide. Hiring Manager will overpower Human Resources Department most of the time provided he/she feels you are the suitable candidate. I will let dreamer101 to provide his valuable opinions on this matter. I actually tried his suggestion especially on the salary negotiation part, it worked quite well for me for the 3rd attempt after failing to follow his advice on the 1st and 2nd attempt. A big thank you from me to him. Judging from your tone, you are probably working in the HR team , and as dreamer101 have said repeated in this forum, HR people are most probably our enemy especially on salary negotiation part , you all need to play your cards right . And yes some lowyaters are good businessmen, probably can check out their successsful tradelist but remember in the workplace the one that doing business is the employer. HR only playing the part to ensure that. |
