Is it good if I advance my IT studies till master degree? Will the company depend on highest qualification and pay higher salary, other than working experience? Currently studying diploma in IT specialism in software engineering at APU. I understand to get better job/promotion/high salary is based on working experience and attitude, just if.

For starters, it is great that you already thought of the rate of salary you can expect. But in my opinion, unless you know what you want from a master paper better don't pursue it immediately. A company will pay based on how you sell yourself. No doubt resume with qualifications gets you shortlisted, but that doesn't mean you can't find your way into companies that are willing to pay high.

I share the same background with you, and congratulations for choosing the right university in IT. Everything will depend on how capable you brand yourself in the end. For the time being, the best focus is getting good grades and look for internship in big named companies.

With 3 years of experience, are you a senior in the company? Are your responsibilities heavy? rm3.5k for 3 yrs seems fair for diploma, but yet if you are a senior i guess you should be demanding rm4.5k or higher instead.

what about 3 years with degree? does it make a difference? Some are seniors because they have seniority as in they worked longer, but same responsibilities as me.
*
The difference between degree and diploma really isn't much, but employers will usually grade degrees with additional 200-300rm on their fresh graduate salary.

If you have the same responsibility as your seniors, are you reporting to them? Same responsibility meant working on the same level. If they are classified as senior while you are not, just because you lack the number of years then the system is very much unfair. Then again, this is not uncommon but if you believe salary wise they also earn more than you while having the same responsibility, you should fight for a higher increment or a seniority level. Otherwise, wouldn't you feel detrimental staying in the same company so long under the people sharing the same responsibility.

If you cant fight the system, maybe you should consider to move on to another one.
