API SL/CF

Have a look here.

http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorO...lain_Terms.aspx
The letters next to API, such as SM, refer to the quality level of passenger vehicle motor oil. The current highest available standard is SN. CF is a diesel engine or commercial vehicle standard and the highest current one is CJ-4.

I've tried recording a video on this, but the 'whirring' sound cannot be heard clearly during the replay.

Anyways, the sound (sounds a lot like a muted helicopter whirring sound) will come everytime when I carry out the below:

1) Start Car.
2) Press on Brake (car remain ststionary/not moving).
3) Engage into 'R'/Reverse gear.
4) Maintain foot on Brake pedal, keeping the car stationary.
5) Pasang telinga/Keep my ears peeled, helicopter sound appears icon_question.gif

You guys give it a try and let me know if the same thing happens to your cars. Thank you.
*
Tell you what. When your car is cold (after overnight), go push 'in/out' your muffler....you will hear 'mouse running' alike sound at the under carriage - nearby gearbox area...when during a cold start you wouldn't hear it..it only 'appear' after engine/exhaust warmed up....

Thats the exhaust's cone sound....go to any SC get them to replace it if your car still under warranty....

yesterday, went to naza auto solutions in PJ, to update my multimedia infotainment system (free). previous my shell version was 2.82.x, now is 2.89.5 already.

noticed that radio receptions is slightly better than before... and also i have requested them to unlock the video playing features because previously mine always displayed "ENJOY MUSIC WHILE DRIVING" tongue.gif

other than that, i am able to off the display only (standby) while others such radio still playing. previously, if i did that, the entire audio unit was off doh.gif

I driving forte 1.6SX and i just change my tyre to Michelin PS3. I'm very satisfied, very smooth and reduce the tyre noise. Anyhow i still not satisfied with the noise from the motorcycle and lorry. Is there anyway to reduce the noise in the car?

There is no way to 'greatly' improve Forte sound proof. There are member what paid for hundred and thousand buck, ended up get minimal result..one of the 'cheap' way of doing it is check on Garage Sales section look for '3M sound proof door seal'...

AUDIO QUALITY IMPROVEMENT BY OVERSEAS FORUMER:
ANYONE TRIED THIS? MIND TO SHARE THE RESULT?

but even before doing that, since you have the Touring and I do too, I was able to improve by 100x the sound quality going in the developper menu and setting the DSP to Flat ON.

Steps:
Press Nav + Menu + Back 3 seconds
The 2 screens will display debug menus you should not have access normally
Press return on the touch screen one (you don't need it)
Press Menu for 3 seconds
You will be in the developer menu
Scroll down to DSP/AMP settings
Scroll to 'Flat' set it to 'On'
Enjoy!
*
Can you share the source of tis information.

Hi,

Today when I send my car to the service center in glenmarie (3S) they charge me rm12 for checking even though my car still under warranty.

I sent only for checking as there is noise from the rear suspension, engine bay and also the brake pedal. No service needed as it's another 5000+km before it's due.

Have anyone here experience the same thing. Is the rm12 charge valid?
*
did u ask them whats the reason charging ? or before inspection....

My 2010 forte has the same power steering knocking sound.

SC wanted RM6500 to replace the EPS.

AS I had EWP with Allianz I decided to claim against the policy.

Allianz rejected my claim because although I serviced the car within the mileage they rejected the claim because I was 1 month late in servicing for 1 service.

I am in the process of selling the kia and getting a Japanese car now.

Getting another car isn't that going to cost more ?

Kia Cerato 2.0L smile.gif

Saw the records in their database, it was indeed my 2nd service was labeled under 20K service in the computer. Glenmarie SC don't want to dirty their hands in this issue and rejected my car and ask me go deal with AZ directly.

Suddenly got me thinking, was this a conspiracy by AZ Motors to prevent customers going to other place since it is considered "warranty void" by other SC.

Gonna lodge a report with Naza and see what can be done about this issue.
*
Seem AZ popularity and after sales service is dropping lately...no doubt their SA WAS in Forte thread VERY actively lasttime...once Forte discont. SA also went missing and ACTIVELY in Cerato thread now ...

We have to accept the fact, sales and $$ made, after market service will leave to owner and SC department to fight against themself.... sad.gif

tinted my headlamp and after a week, the headlamp cracks like spider web. the reason i tinted the lamp is because the stone chip on it.to prevent more stone chip on it my fren from acc suggest me to do this. aiks....now it cracks. anyone know how much it cost for a pair of new one? genuine one. or anyone wanted to let go their current eagle eye can pm me.thank you!
*
New was was told RM600 or 1200 per piece. I hope you learn a lesson not about tint CANNOT be simply 'apply'...if you talk about stone chip , then you should also clear bra the whole car since paintwork is the biggest surface , stone chip is even easier to kena all time...

My rear end lost grip when exiting the corner because of the slippery road condition. I forgot to accelerate to regain the grip and the car spinned. Luckily forte bumper are quite resistance, only the bumper is destroyed. Other part of the body is intact.

how fast were you driving or taking the sharp corner ?
