Apparently you do lose root if you install 290 over PCC, I'll just wait out for the OTA update.

It wasn't too bad. I didn't unlock bootloader, that would require some extra work. Plus it wipes usrdata and internal memory.

Yeah, rooting 290 would be harder. I'm assuming you have to also unlook bootloader and manual flash 290

Nice =) Don't plan to unlock bootloader for now, just recovery. Stock is good enough for now.

Try connect to PC. The software will detect. No OTA atm
