I can't do any OTA updates. It'll prompt that it is not able to install. Why is this?
Done some googling. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427482 QUOTE I had the same problem. The cause was a modified /system/apps folder. As a solution i copied the missing files from a FTF-File back. If for example facebook.apk is missing the update will fail. Which I did... gonna try moving back all the apks I removed with Flashtool. QUOTE(unknowngenius @ Dec 19 2013, 12:53 AM) After the update, I notice that when I'm on Chrome browser, the page tends to zoom in whenever I accidentally scroll to the right. Didn't have this problem. Will monitor further but if you're looking for alternatives, I'd say you can try Dolphin browser. This is super annoying. Any solutions? Since we're in the browser topic, which one are you all using? |

QUOTE(unknowngenius @ Dec 19 2013, 07:34 PM) Yeah its really annoying. Try boat browser. Working good so far. Quite snappy. And prolonged usage doesnt really heat up the phone as much as Chrome. Hey bro, I think the issue with auto zoom and all that is with the phone's sensitivity of the screen on the right side. No matter how hard I press down my fingers and scroll up and down (test the sensitivity), it always jams halfway and then will kinda double tap by itself. Not to mention for boat browserhas the sside slider. When scrolling with right thumb that menu keeps coming out cos of the sensitivity. It detects as though your finger wasn't there then it's the again. |

QUOTE(ckchan @ Dec 20 2013, 06:55 PM) Great! But I'm not so familiar with this root method. Care to explain the steps you take to root? I will teach further in detailed when I get the TWRP/CWM working properly (at all times). Now I have CWM/TWRP but they're not booting into it And you mentioned both cwm and twrp also not working? but if you want to know how I did mine, I have rooted .257, flashed to .290 (4.3) ; unlock bootloader, flashed DoomKernel, boot into TWRP install SuperSU.zip. |

QUOTE(WindChaseR @ Dec 20 2013, 08:11 PM) nope i dont think so.. bootloader is at the kernel level, it doesnt get affected by ROM inm.. Which will mean you need to flash original kernel back, and by entirely wiping data/TA/etc when flashing firmware.its like the BIOS of a pc.. correct me if im wrong.. and once bootloader is unlocked thru the proper way, Sony side should hv ur unlock record already, and that basically voided the warranty.. |
