Everyone can afford a Note3 but not a z1. People tend to play safe with Samsung.

Yup... S3 is a huge success for samsung, beating and putting their main competitor htc in deep financial crisis...

But comes to think of it, if not for samsung's success, apple may have dominated and monopolized the entire smartphone market.

yeah... And I still have friends who are just follower, they buy Samsung or Apple because that's what most people are buying.

HTC cannot just simply point fingers at others for their epic meltdown. Their crisis is partly due to their product lineup. Some of their products before One X are just modified Desire phones. And you need to spend for advertising.

And I go for some random phones. The only mainstream device I ever used was SGS II.
My other devices, Nokia 900,Nokia N9 & Nexus 4 aren't that popular. Even now some people look at my phone (Nexus 4) & ask, "Hey, that's a nice looking China phone, how much is it?".

X10 is pathetic, so is Arc. Motorola also not so good. only HTC acceptable. Yeah I can imagine. Those days people buy lousy phones and say Android lags. But with Samsung clearly defined flagship it tells people if you don't buy Galaxy S series, the lag is your fault, don't complain. They play a lot of part in penetrating telcos aggressively

You also seems to forget support.

Samsung have service centres in all the big cities, and repairs usually took less than 1 day (Ive even got less than 1 hour repair done) if they have spare parts in stocks.

Last time my mum punya Asus transformer charge putus, have to come all the way to KL and wait 3 weeks to be replaced with a new charger.

Outsider shop can sell AP set and AP set never cover under warranty and services at service center for any brand.

Im from note 2 jump to z1..

altot samsung also using android but they really customize it for ppl's convenience and usefullness.
For example, samsung android phone can make 3G video call, built-in browser can view flash, better photo gallery view, etc.

Z1 is so called best of sony but the screen dont even wanna use IPS or better LCD screen like iphone does.. Sony just put those fancy marketing technology name to its screen to make ppl believe the screen is outstanding but the truth just so so screen being used..
Samsung's AMOLED win hand down for clarity, viewing angle n true black color. Cannot say SONY dont manufacture LCD screen their own so dont hv better lcd screen. Nokia also not manufacture but they buy AMOLED screen from other while Apple use good quality screen from LG and SHARP.

However, SONY does use IPS good quality screen for their Z but only for JAPAN market while other market all using normal screen.. How to grow its mobile phone compare to Samsung n apple..

I bought the z1 for the premium brand and build quality.
Skipped Samsung because the screen cracks easily.
Former gnex user and most friends around me cracks their Samsung screen too.
Pretty impressed with the z1 drop test result by android authority.

yeah, for the screen, i cant agree more. although the color is good, improved with the latest engine, but why they dint put a little more effort for IPS?
even china phone like cheaper lenovo using IPS, which proven better view angle
maybe they scarified for premium finishing body with affordable price

Another thing is resale value but Z1 now more expensive than Note 3.

i'm back to traditional way of putting mp3 in SD card as source of music. these music got replaced after 2-3 listening...so wont be bored at all. that's why i choose Player Pro because of the fully customized smart playlist.

as for me, once the free Akazoo access expires i will remove them & the rest of the bloatware after 3 months. the phone will be as basic as it can get coz like to maintain the smoothness...this is a device to racun non believers to convert to Sony since i'm so fed up with colleagues asking "u seem to really like Sony product very much, what is so good about them?" most of them have an iphone & blackberry as 2nd phone. i just said nicely "coz i hate mainstream, all my gears are Sony & they're classy "

Those picture engine sound nice.. but not performing better than others..haha..

Hope sony will keep update its camera functions like nokia lumia does

using shuttle button like mandatory to me, fast can shoot best moment without looking at the phone.
