here is more racun from the 80's.

well everyone had different memories. some are good some are bad to be forgotten. having such G1 item are consider luxuries of the past. one thing is price factor and availability.

from feedback everyone had different units. if compare with common ones these days especially from transformers movie.

here is my tripple changer... DOOM DA DA.

ok everyone more pic please...

there is this last unit of chromedome reissue a later re-released version of mine. that is at berjaya times square @ IT center where the largest toy shop is. that unit was TAKARA made not TAKARA TOMY.

the unit was hidden from public view. at the bottom of the glass case which where they display the MP series.

so it's last available headmaster unit. wonder if the owner willing to let go. u can give a try.

now i m not sure if still avail or not. since i make mention yesterday.

i sold them cheap actually. i sold them before the 1st TF movie. so TF price was pretty reasonable back then. just had to sacrifice the old stuff to get some new stuff, like MP01.  rolleyes.gif

here's what my lame display rack looks like now:

talk about bruticus, if u look from side wide. the body is so thin. OMG they fella must have suffer dehydration... sad.gif

same goes to platinum edision of grimlock comes along. the stomach area was hallow. i wonder if they don't built the dino like how origin G1 does.

Didn't most of the G1 combiners except Predaking have a thin side profile?

I think that is an engineering limit.. even in modern 3rd part or hasbro ones.. if they make the torso to thick.. the body will have balance issues.. and if they make the legs thicker or heavier to accomodate the heavier torso, it might not suit the alt mode or bot mode of that limb etc...  and this is why I still love Predaking so much after all these years hehe.

I have the predaking too the Takara Tomy 2010 reissue. the side view look more balanced.

after long time, TT would had make a better version especially the bruticus vs grimlock. I can be sure it's more cost cutting to make the price competitive.

know what the 2014 release of Metroplex is somehow very much lighter. all is believe is cost cutting factor.

If you want to FOC bruticus.. some stores are still sellling the takara version.. set of 5 for rm 350 (1toy amcorp mall for example).
There will be a add-on kit that will make them look considerably better..

takara one's slightly more better.

yeah, there is this new release platinum version of predaking. cost cheaper than the earlier release around rm4**. but plastic quality looks more cheaper. many times thinking platinum ver should be the better. but more cheapo kinda quality built.

The add-on kits add the back  gun and chest plate (which in alt mode for onslaught are "functioning parts" ) which looks it really helps with the side profile (a bit ) i guess hehe...

Heh yeah I remember the older transformers feel like sturdy hunks of plastic... and only broke with lot's of heavy play...  The transformers United Bruticus that i bought to use with the Xfire addon, I hardly play with them in thier normal modes since I only like the modified bruticus form.. but onslaught's head broke off the other day while I transform from vehicle mode to combined mode. Don't know what caused it.. it just broke. Shitty plastic I guess.

we can do enhancement via 3rd party add on. however the same applies to predaking. u seen the huge wings upgrade. the bigger cannons behind his back. his high heels. a nicer and bigger sword too.

I also had transformers since during the 80's. the plastic was absolutely solid by feel and heavier. seriously pure made in japan imprinted with takara. they are like brick if compare same model these days. so much for shitty plastic materials to cut cost to keep up with mass production. that's notable point these days.

generation metroplex? sad to say the material in used very much lighter and very flimsy.

well for the legs. u cannot close properly. u need to carefully align before you close. else u break the joints.

not to say QC prob but moreless cost cutting. can't expect to be as solid as fortress maximus sold years back.

cheap, beautiful and best ideology.

u guys bai so many robots, you display them or keep them in storage? how u guys take care of them oh, those boxes won't become wet & greasy & dusty after time?
*
I kept my original transformers for 27 years. putting them on glass display is not an issue. however there are minor sticker wear cause we did sometimes play with it. the boxes will became brittle. the same goes to plastic glass cover it turned brown. sad.gif too bad had to dispose them. well basically depends on your storage condition too.
