I wouldn't expect anything less than 3 points from this match, but a 5-0 scoreline is certainly a bit of a fantasy right now.

Just to mention it to those who does not watch the game yesterday night, and only watch the scoreline and the highlights. Don't fool by the scoreline, although Sterling is on the score sheet, but he doesn't do a good job on the pitch, losing possession a lot, wasting a goal scoring opportunity with a poor shoot instead of passing it to 2 unmarked teammates. His goal came from Suarez brilliance as well, dribbling through the defenders and pass it to his leg and he just tap it in.
And as for Allen losing possession? You have to include both Hendo and Gerrard in, yes even Gerrard keep on losing possession for the past few games. TBH, bash me all you want, but BR's golden boy is just not good enough. |

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 5 2013, 01:43 PM) Our midfield does indeed need an overhaul. Don't think the label of "BR's Golden Boy" or "Love Child" applies to Allen anymore since he's effectively been dropped from the starting lineup as of this season. In my opinion, none of our current central midfielders deserve to start every game but we aren't spoilt for choice at the moment unfortunately and have to play with the personnel we have until January at least. The question we should ask ourselves until then is "how we can best play them?". I think you misunderstood my statement there, my BR's golden boy is referring to Sterling. Sad to admit it, but I do agree that none of our current central midfielders deserve to start every game, even Gerrard. But still, I don't see its possible to bench Gerrard, he is the heart of the midfield and the team after all. As for Jan transfer, I think we would need a DM badly, Lucas did a decent job defending, but his distribution and holding just wasn't good enough. Not to forget a good winger and either a top class central midfield or attacking midfield. |

QUOTE(AmmoShaf @ Dec 5 2013, 03:31 PM) What I'm saying is for player like Sterling, who was given chance to play and prove himself, he must feel he need to show what he capable of so BR will chose Totally agree on both Sterling and Allen observation there. Sterling doesn't have the vision like Suso, he tend to bring the ball forward and dribble aimlessly when there is other teammate is available. Not to mention his dribbling success rate is sooooo low, losing possession most of the time. him for the next game. Thus lead to his bad decision making dribble into 2 or 3 defenders while there are other better options, and then losing the ball. Too many times. I understand as the winger, he should dribble and pass defender, but depends on the situations. Same goes to Allen, too nervous, avoiding doing any mistake, thus panics when pressured which lead to bad pass or losing possession. When he doesn't do mistake, he just make simple back and side pass. Proving yourself with no self confidence is totally different. This is only my opinion. By the way, I do agree Coutinho and Gerrard play a big part in yesterday win. As for Allen, the exact duplicate of Hendo, both avoiding doing any mistake, thus only making side way passes and back passes. They are afraid to bring the ball forward just because they are afraid to bear the responsibility and the consequences. We only need 1 midfielder that do all this safe move, but the problem is we have 3 of them, Allen, Hendo, and Lucas. |

Sterling didn't just wasting open chances, but he tried to dribble past 2 defenders when there is 3 other teammates who is available.

Do you guys notice now our midfield consist of Hendo, Lucas, and Allen. All three with the same mold of safe play with no offensive creativity?
