I live in Sg Chua, so I take first exit on Silk, Jln Wan Siew. 5 years ago hardly anyone uses Silk, but in recent years, it's congested as soon as you past the toll, and they introduced tidal flow towards Putrajaya, which helped slightly.

Then usually I'll take Besraya highway passing through Mines, MidFields etc and cut into Jalan Istana. But these days it's also quite busy because there's only 1 toll on Besraya and work out to be cheaper than KL-Seremban. The jam typically starts from after MidFields.
Now with the new highway from Jalan Cheras to Istana, sometimes Waze would advise to use that route instead, but it's not exactly on the way and the MRT construction makes Jalan Loke Yew (Tesco extra stretch) very congested also.

On the way back usually it's via East West link exit to MEX then MEX exit to KESAS and KESAS exit to KL Seremban highway. Besraya towards Kajang typically is very bad after palace of the golden horses due to cars trying to get to Sri Kembangan and Balakong at Mines exit. KL Seremban is clear after Sg Besi toll.

For Semenyih however, I'm not sure if the other Silk highway towards Cheras Batu 11 is better as I seldom use that side. As far as I know, the jam typically starts from ex-Phoenix plaza

Actually from say Setia Ecohill, even if using Silk highway, it takes about 20-25 minutes to reach my place at the moment because there is no direct link. With the direct exit to Lekas, I hope it can achieve the 10-15 minutes to Kajang.
Anyway, I once used Lekas/Silk in the morning to get to KL from Seremban. It's quite bad even at 7 in the morning. So although I'm vested, I really wouldn't be overly optimistic with the traffic. Esp when Seremban is also developing rapidly with people buying intending to live in Seremban but work in KL or Putajaya

Huh? Going to KL by Silk highway (Kajang-Uniten side) doesn't get Mines bottleneck. I don't use Connaught or Cheras Sentral either
I also don't use KL Seremban highway in the morning nor Tun Razak.

I don't think you really understand the route I plotted.
Anyway, what's the travel time from inner Puchong (say nearby Han Ming) to go to KL Sentral? Or inner Kota Damansara say Section 5 during peak hours?

If not mistaken from OUG people normally will use smart tunnel to goto KLCC, right?

The critical point still rely on the time taken for you to commute in or out from KL prime area. The time taken from/to Semenyih to/from Sungai Besi or Cheras Batu 9 currently is about 25 minutes, from these two places to KL prime area, then it is already out of expectation, as that's the most congested area it could be..

Lol, perhaps can give some examples which the route is not that jam?

Then, what is your concern about traveling back to Semenyih?
