QUOTE
first step, a good component set

can u explain what is a "component set"? does this refer to "tweeter, mid speaker and crossover"? so means need to install tweeter, replace stock speaker (for mid purpose), and install crossover? this whole thing needs amp as well right?

wow icebikers thanks for the very layman explanations! now i understand! thanks!

since my front passenger speaker not working already, maybe a good time to get the component set that matches the stock head unit cos the component set has speakers included. btw, how about the rear stock speakers, should they be changed as well? or retained as is, or removed? thanks!

maybe i really ought to visit ea... cos its not just the speaker, the stock clarion head unit needs checking as well.

Got the Polk Audio component set from EA. I appreciate howiechoo accommodating me as I realized when I was in the shop that setting appointment first is a must. From my initial hearing comparison, indeed it was an improvement coming from stock. I will test more as the savvy is only a weekend car. howie also provided me suggestions for head unit replacement thru his experience. Overall I liked my experience in the shop and service. I'll study the next options should I further upgrade.
