I had my chit chat (informal interview) conducted on 30th November 2022, 3pm with hiring manager.

On the same day, HR informed I have been shortlisted for next stage and asked to provide all documents (payslip, NRIC, certs) with CTC (signatory from Commissioner of Oaths) by 7th.

Today, HR (different person) informed on the next stage interview (yet to be scheduled), which is CBI.

Now, waiting for them to confirm on the date of CBI.

Anyone can share what are the questions to be asked during CBI? What’s the difference with informal interview?

I did my CBI last Monday, 2 hours session 🤣

I did asked the HR representative what’s next provided CBI passed? This would be the final stage.

But, result CBI could be 2 weeks, even months.

Not going to put high hope for this. I didn’t apply for this. The headhunter approached me @ LinkedIn.

Good luck for those that is going for interview with Petronas!

30 mins before the actual scheduled interview time, HR rep called me and asked to join Teams for some briefings and tips (what sort of questions to be asked, which area should I focus on during CBI).

2 hours - personal details, work exp, why Petronas, some business/use case, technical. Hiring Managers asked lot for each working experience what I did in details, challenges + action taken, work culture etc.

Mine with Petronas.

Mine still no news on CBI result.

Emailed the HR but no reply. Only last Friday he replied but not that clear…

“regarding your interview result, there are some changes in direction from HM. We will share an update on this hiring once we get info on this. Apologies on this matter.”

Seems not a good news 😅

Now the waiting game starts again. I dont know which HR will handle my case.

I received email today from PET HR,

On behalf of PETRONAS, we are delighted to inform that you were successful in your Competency Based Interview (CBI). We shall update you on the next hiring process should you are recommended for position.

Read from previous post, similar email sent to them, this does not guarantee you secure the job....

Received news from HR as below:

“After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that management have decided not to proceed to offer you that position. However, we will share you profile with other business that may fit and suitable base on your profile, subject to available vacancies.”

Me signing off….
