I have one colleague in my team who resigned from Petronas and joined us recently..initially was surprised why he left Petronas since everyone is trying to get in..so I asked him and he told me him being the only non bumi ( indian) in his team, he was bullied by his superior.. the segregation of work wasn't fair and imagine senior exec work pass to him while his senior all goyang kaki and he had to stay back until night to do their work.

During appraisal time also he was given below average score while his senior all bumi given good ratings..eventually he resigned due to toxic work culture..he was in procurement department..so yeah

Hi everyone, just wanted your opinion.. I recently received an offer from Petronas for a finance role under Group Finance department . I was quite disappointed that they only offer me 10% more than my current basic pay. I quoted for 30% more. Should I accept this or am I being shortchanged?

Just some background I have about 10 years experience in finance and have worked in two oil MNCs the current one is Petronas competitor in a way.. this is a lateral move more to a managerial position. I’m in a dilemma as well since there is also the Petros issue ongoing and I’ve heard rumours of layoffs coming up.
