I did have that tot before. I even didn't attend any mock interviews for I always think that PETRONAS would hire scholars.   But then, I didn't get hired (even the SI during my final year was cancelled). - received letter of release, means no more connection/privilege as a scholar. period.

But, last month, I've got an interview call, not even applying for any positions...

so, it's kinda tricky.

the best way is to plan ur career path that suits eventually, PETRONAS interest. for example, if u work for O&G company, it's likely for u to get hired. experienced personnel is preferred.

I have been interviewed by Petronas GTS on September 13. HR has given me the confirmation mail on 1st week of October 13. But, surprisingly on Nov 13, they mailed me that my recruitment status is on hold (KIV). Till date I have mailed them several times, but they are replying back that my status is still on hold. Please let me know if the same is happened to any body in this forum.  Is this the way of saying the rejection indirectly. Please help me with your suggestions.

kinda agree. no point of petronas of having booth in career fair, if just usher people apply at their website.
anyway, u can get consider by petronas, even if you dont have cable or their scholar. just make sure the u have background in technical like engineering, drilling geophysic bla bla bla (u get the drift that kind of specific field)

people with that specific background that I mention probably have a higher chances of getting through to the 1st round of their recruitment process

When did u applied? U need to bear in mind that there are tons of Pet scholar in every batch, n they all entitled to SI. Each year got three batch. So, u just need to be better than them to get their attention  Plus, 2014 shows some sour operation in OnG. so, not much job posting compare to last year. some of them even closed down their business (newfields etc) 

well. u should not put high hope on entering petronas.

for me, yea I would apply petronas, but I wont give it high priority. the key is just apply. if you're lucky, u go through the first stage. if not, it's not the end of your life, you can look anywhere else 

All,I've been seeking for oil and gas job since I was graduated,2011...I really interested to join OnG especially in technical/engineering line..but since now I do not get any call or emails from oil company even I've submitted a hundreds (almost 400) of my CV's through website or emails...but all in vain...I think I've done everything...submitted through frens as well who working with oil company such as SLB,Halliburton,MOC,EMEPMI,PCSB,Petrofac,Talisman,Baker Hughes etc,most of oil major company/subcontractor in Malaysia.... 

Now I've yet working just running a small business at Pasar Malam to survive.

Me,having a Degree Engineering in EE from University of Nice (France),MARA scholar,French speaking.

I do love to develop my career in OnG for my better future.

Can someone help me please....

Plus,how to get an experience if at the first place we didn't give the opportunity to join ?? i.e fresh grad...

Normally we just rotates in the same industry within the few big companies. After working for a few years, one can have contacts everywhere. You are right to say that it's pretty hard to land into an OnG companies for newbies. Maybe can try 2nd Tier or 3rd Tier like those small OnG vendors, something like Baker Petrolite, FlowServ, Contract Resources, Haliburton, Nalco, etc etc
