Dear friend,

I am in the proses of writing my thesis. I would like to look for some help for some statistical analysis. I have an approved grant for a little payment for statistic consultation. Preferably someone with a bit of medical background/ biostatistic. Can you guys help me or suggest someone to me please. Thank you

What does the consultation has something to do with your thesis?

I'm not sure, but jonoave probably can shed some light on biostatistics. Blofeld is probably good at Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). sweat.gif

I assume that the TS meant that his research project (i.e. thesis) has some sections that require statistical analysis. And the funding for this project has been approved to be used in engage a third party to carry out statistical analysis, for a fee.

A bit more description of what you require for statistical analysis would be useful, since biological data comes in various forms. I have worked with qPCR data before, and have limited knowledge of statistical testing for significance.

If you're looking to analyse microarray data, I have not worked with those before. Neither have I worked with imaging or network data like transcriptomics, modelling etc.

Or if you require a simple data analysis e.g. mortality rate of how many survive, how many dead etc based on testing a new drug? smile.gif

I don't think I can help much in this biostatistics area. biggrin.gif

You are not the type of person who would chicken out when things get a little complicated in your project, are you? sweat.gif

lol. Its actually rather uncommon, for those to be classified under biostat.

Biostat usually concerns mortality rate analysis, kernel smoothing, issues with random censoring, regression fit with variable dependency (correlated). Anything more general would be just hypothesis tests with different models and some experiment design analysis.

Those that you said are actually for Bioinformatics, or what we refer to as computational biology. These are studies that concentrate upon genomic analysis and genetics.

Yeah,I did lots of multiple regression and ROC curve during my PhD time. ..to determine the risk factor of diseases and also to establish cut off value for certain drugs/ protein. Do let me know if you need my input.
