NEED HELP...when connected to the NET, my pc keep on sending data........

can any one pls help me...... i noticed my pc keep on sending data to nowhere although i am not browsing or opening files. it can be seen from the small icon at the bottom bar...the rate of sending is much faster than receiving.............. is this spyware or wat ever ware working on the background?? can anyone pls recommend me a free software to solve this problem thanks

digilife - try to use software like netlimiter or zonealarm to see what is the application sending out so much data?

So, what is it that is eating up your bandwith? Most likely it is spyware,if you ask me. But it is possible that it is Automatic Updates, though the AU icon will be displayed. Hope it is not anything nasty...

r u running any P2P application(s)....? MAYBE its ur P2P/torrent applications. Ur upload option(s) need to be reconfigure...

Go Start>Run and type in cmd. Then, type in netstat -v -b and press enter. This enables you to see which internet applications is running at background. Check whether is there any applications are suspicious.

When cmd auto closes upon opening, it indicates that you probably have the Brontok virus. I think you have to go to technical support and post your HijackThis log.
EDIT: No need to panic...its just my two cents and just an assumption. If you cannot open the Registry Editor...or you cannot see Folder options in Control Panel, it would probably be the brontok virus.
