im new here.i would like to know if device rooted will void the warranty is it?and normally people will charge how much for helping in root device ?

How about if u use other sound processing like MusicFX or DSP Manager?

you take p780, you get huge battery, you get 1gb ram.
you take g700, you lose huge battery, you get 2gb ram.
for me, i chose battery life because of my job. always far from wall socket.

hi, im new here, bought the 4GB version on August 2013 (directD), now runs the newest official rom S123 (not good at rooting). The default lenovo launcher feels a little sluggish on the effect transition when running the newest rom, updated to official lenovolauncher 3.2.3, faster but ram consumes slightly more than the default launcher, and i dont like the placement of opened folder (no longer folder location closed to where u press, it will always aligned the folder to center screen)

But my main concern is this, after the system update, no longer able to calibrate my battery successfully, always failed (Not sure because of not using the default old launcher, previous 2 times calibrating while using new lenovolauncher 3.2.3 & nova launcher)

Yup， i installed both (new lenovolauncher and Nova, try out each launcher for a week to test out) In the end i still prefer Nova, although lack of a stock ram cleaner (Using clean master currently) As what you have mentioned, it is smooth and quick for Nova, and a whole lot more if you use the "prime" version^^

But still, my concern is still on the battery calibration fails, previously i have no issues with the old official rom. After the update i wasn't able to perform successfully. Does any one has the same issue after the official S123 update?

Not sure if anyone knows about it: for the lenovo launcher 3.2.3, you can download some sleek & entertaining UI for screen lock (though consume a little more battery, which i don't think is an issue for P780 users, lol)

This is how I understand the lag we are facing nowadays:

As processors are trying to be as power efficient as possible, they tend to lower their clock speeds to use as least juice as possible and as cool as possible. When you do something demanding, it takes time for the processor (it reads a few samples) before upping the clock with thresholds to prevent the CPU from going up and down like crazy and false alarms. If you want to avoid the lag all together, lock the CPU at a certain GHz like lets say 2GHz? So that the power is always on rather than on demand.

Imagine you driving a manual car, up a slope at 60km/h, cruising comfortably in 4th gear, if you want to accelerate faster you'll have to downshift to 3rd right? The process of you lifting the accelerator, pressing the clutch and shifting the gear lever is like your CPU is changing its clock speed, the transition. Or if you want POWER ALWAYS, then just drive in second gear at 60km/h which maintains your engine at the peak of the powerband, you can accelerate faster by then.

Yep. Its the kernel's responsibility. The kernel is like the car's ECU along with lots of sensors like the air flow sensor and thermometers to decide the air-fuel mixture etc.

Yup, anyone selling? Interested in one, just for incase. Although I think my P780 havent reach more than 10 charges yet.

I always charge when the battery level are below 15%. 15% enough to lasts whole day if not using it though, which is pretty impressive.
