Actually brake pad even stock also will wear evenly until finish. Why brake pad wear become uneven is because the rotor after numerous heat cycle, friction the surface will become uneven that's why you have ppl skimming rotor. The pads will eventually takes wear down according to the rotor surface. That's why when u change rotor and not change the pads. You will see the contact surface on the rotor is not complete.
Choosing the right pads n rotor combination is important because some pads which is low dust would wear out the rotor faster vice versa...and slotted rotor also tend to wear out faster than blank rotor... Harder pads, less dust will be more resistance to fading and can take in more heat but in expense of the rotor. Softer pads tend to give the rotor longer life span but pads will be very dusty and shorter pads life. The way you drive also need to take into consideration when it comes to pads n rotor life span....late braking and hard braking more your pads n rotor will finish faster then those who practice gradually braking. |

QUOTE(iskazulka @ Nov 26 2013, 08:27 AM) IF the pads are not in contact with any oil or chemical. It will not have problems. QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Nov 26 2013, 08:47 AM) probably due to the rusts on the rotors, after some shaving off, no more sound Different compound on the pads, different characteristic. EBC wear less but not hard is mixture of compound and material used. and yea it really depends on how one drives and the pad compound. for me rapid bald 9 months habis. i think maybe 2 track days and touge, that's it. EBC green already almost a year. got maybe 60-70% left, no signs of rotor wears unlike rapidbald so it's not that the pad is hard either. and considering the pad feel and that it is quiet, it couldn't be hard at all funny, EBC had more touge runs, more track days including Sepang, and yet it wears less if it's over 20-30%, i wouldn't bother changing especially for normal driving. track/touge maybe need to change earlier since easier to fade with less pad material... then again some crazies just wear it to the metal backplate anyways even when they do dangerous sukan with their car QUOTE(zeone @ Nov 26 2013, 10:04 AM) Hi Bro... I believe need to remove front bumper to install. In my case, when I DIY install my PIAA horn. In order to remove the stock horn need to remove the center grill only can reach the bolt. I position my horns on the same location as the stock and not at the lower grill so removing the front bumper will have more ease of access to all the empty bolt holes to mount the brackets.Hi Everyone!! Re changing horns, attach new horns to bracket juz behind centre of grille. Also better 2hv a relay 4power supply... And need abit "Yoga" positions but can install w/o open/remove bumper... Best wishes & Good Luck!! |

QUOTE(cheewei_2004 @ Nov 26 2013, 10:36 AM) dear zeone, Actually remove bumper better...if not after you accidentally scratch the bumper lagi sakit hati...thank you for reply me. any tip for install only horn w/o open bumper, my hand langsung x boleh masuk lar.... or u all install from bottom..? If I remember, here's the total no of things you need to remove for FLX The row of plastic clips along the top bumper (hood striker area) after remove the top clips lift the bumper edge area a bit to swift it out of the 2 plastic stud holder. No plate need to remove to access 1 plastic clip 6 bolts at the bottom of the bumper. 1 plastic screw on each side at the front inner fender 1 bolt on each side of the inner fender (its at the joint where the bumper and side fender meet. The bolts and screw at the inner fender, you need to turn the steering to opposite direction each time you want to remove them. All the bolts are size 10mm aka M6 use a ratchet to remove them. You will need to have a short philip screw driver and a long flat screw driver (to pry the plastic clips out) Note: when you pry the plastic clip out pry them half way up then ok already then you will be able to remove the whole clip. If you have difficulty removing the clips try to press a lil bit the center clip plastic clip along top bumper and at behind no plate ![]() plastic clip at the inner fender 2 pcs total 1 pc on each side ![]() |
