i didn't know there are Dreamcast fans around here.

well i had one many years back then a friend fried my power and then i managed to get a 2nd unit from someone here in LYN. i got it at quite a deal as he wanted to dispose of it quick.

there are now CDRs that fit up to 800mbs that can be used to burn but has anyone tried them?

im actually looking for DC shooters like Ikaruga, anyone?

The CD-Rs work. I have tried it. However, some games are too big to fit in them such as D2. You can find a torrent for Ikaruga. Originals are hard to find nowadays.

i have downloaded tokyo xtreme racer 1 & 2 ....sega gt, i have no idea how to burn them in cdr so that i can play it thru my dreamcast

Easy, usually those games are in CDI format right? Just download the demo of Alcohol 120% at their website, and if you have a burner and a few blank CDs you're all ready to go.

Just played Under Defeat and Triggerheart Exelica. Under Defeat is frickin tough, under their Easy Mode I'm already feeling the pinch of avoiding tons of bullets and rockets targeted at me The level scenery are gorgeous, and it's fast pace makes you all panicky as you try to shoot the enemies down, yet dodging the bullets.

Triggerheart Exelica is the complete opposite of Under Defeat. I feel the game tends to be a little slow, which gives the player time to hook onto the enemy planes and ships to fling them back. Backgrounds aren't that nice, either. Nevertheless, it's quite a good game, one of the first shmups I've played on the DC. Oh and don't forget about the loli girls

Just bought a Shenmue and Shenmue 2 from PA last week,both JAP version.
Because of my US ver. DC,so i need to use a boot disc to load these 2 games.
When i'm trying to enjoy my games,i faced some problems then.

First,after i used the Utopia Boot Disc to load my JAP ver.Shenmue,
it seems like it just can't load the game,the load process stuck when it reach 100%.
Before this,i've try with my fren's Shenmue too.
JAP limited ver. as wat i have,but also met the same problems.
Last time i thought it was the Disc's problems,thats why i never care about it.
But just never realize that i will meet the same problems again,
with the different Disc,same game,same console.
But the most ridiculous is,my DC just work great with other games.
So,just wanna ask,do any bro here knows how to solve the problems?


this is my JAP ver. of Shenmue Chapter 1: Yokosuka,it just won't work on my US DC.Although i have change my Utopia Boot CD from v1.1 to v1.2.


The next problem is about the DC VGA BOX,i have try to connect my VGA BOX to my monitor,and trying to run my Shenmue 2 and Power Stone 2 on it.When i start the games,i can just hear the sound but the screen is totally dark,nothing i can see.As i know,these 2 games are definitely work with VGA BOX(it state on the back cover),but i just don't understand why could this happened on me,and i have checked already,the VGA BOX is definitely function,no problems at all.




my Shenmue 2 and Power Stone 2,it just won't display anything when i connect it from VGA BOX to my monitor,but i can still hear the sound.


If any bro knows how to solve these problems,hope u can kindly let me know about it,thx

Whoa. Nice to know there are still some pureblood Dreamcast fans here. Welcome to my world! Regarding your issue with Shenmue, I don't think you can boot Japanese games on a US system with the Utopia disc. You either need to modify your console, or use a utility disc. I recommend Gameshark CDX for booting Japanese games. Once upon a time, I bought a Japanese copy of Virtua Figher 3. You know, because I'm such a huge VF nut. Long story short, I ended up with an unusable copy of VF3. Until I stumbled upon Gameshark CDX. Since then, I've started buying Japanese games whenever I get the chance.

About the VGA box, I could be wrong, but this is a hardware compatibility issue. I assume your copy of Shenmue 2 and Power Stone 2 are Japanese, yes? Developers need to include VGA box support for individual games to make sure of compatibility. However, the code is dependent on the region of the console. If you were to run the aforementioned games on a Japanese console, it's certain to work correctly. Hope that helps.

Please to see there is another hardcore Dreamcast fans here.In deed,i haven't try to boot up my games with the GameShark CD,cause i'm always use Utopia Boot CD to boot my different Region Dreamcast's games,and it works.I will try to use the GameShark CD to boot my Shenmue later,and will post the result after i've try for it.

As for my VGA BOX,i'm not very sure whether the problems are lie with my hardware or not,cause i've played my BIoHazard Code:veronica(NTSC/J),Daytona USA 2001(NTSC/J),Soul Calibur(NTSC/J),Sonic Adventure(NTSC/J),and some other more,and it did displayed the graphics for me through the VGA BOX,because of that,i'm not pretty sure whats the problems are.

Added on June 12, 2007, 9:40 pmTry to boot my Shenmue with DC's GameShark CD just now,
and it really works.Finally,i get to see how did Ryo's father dead.
After that,i try to use the GameShark CD to boot my power stone 2 and Shenmue 2,by connecting them to VGA BOX.The miracle did appears,my pc monitor is just displaying the graphics of Power Stone 2.
I finally get to play one of my favourite games with high definition.
Thx to bro tripleB,if it wasn't by ur help,i don't think i can be able to enjoy my Dreamcast again.

Thought I'd share a totally true fact about why I adore the Dreamcast; the Dreamcast, along with Shenmue, helped carry me through some tough times in my life. Probably that's why I still treasure them, along with the memories they help me remember. Ah, nostalgia...

but since the credits for continue are really sucks....
i still can't be able to finish it yet.
