ya...i think so that's y i get the FL36.....
i think some third party flash oso quite nice and more cheaper i think. those what sunpack,vivitar...all oso quite good.

u can adjust how strong u want ya light to be. no need everytime also full flash one.

my dad using nikon SLR de.... i forget what model dy.... but spoiled dy coz the battery forget to take out then liquid kena board so byebye liau. but the ext flash still function well

so when u will get nikon DSLR? so u can used the ext flash...
can ur ext flash fit to pana cam? i think it cannot fit lo. olympus can fit to pana 1 la.
