1 week old FZ-30 user here.

to me i seriously thought of getting a DSLR rather than a preconsumer camera. but come to think of it i am not a pro or wanna be a pro yet. i guess FZ-30 always be 1 of my choice.

the lumix lens and the 12x zoom always give sufficient lens range for me to take long or short range anytime.

actually i am happy i make the right choice.

about FZ-50... nothing much differents except the 10mp and the shutter speed. the rest almost same like FZ-50

the power of 12x optical zoom of FZ30.

i am searching for a tele lens for my FZ30... anyone can recommend me something? the original panasonic one is way out of my budget

thank you, was playing around with the light sources. wasnt really satisfy with the macro mode. guess the 35-420mm lens wasn't capable of doing a great macro tho...

any idea where to get nice and reasonable price Macro filter?

i can get Hoya UV filter= RM40 and Hoya Closeup +4 = RM48

but many said FZ50 firmware problem wor....

don't know..... but many ppl seems to face firmware problem in FZ50. and also by the photos which u boss snapped in u know where seems not impressive alos..

u should try to ask him show u some of the FZ50 pictures. that why i agree on him selling the FZ50

butterfly need macro or tele lens. our fz good in 12x zoom but not the D80. :-p

fz30 night shoot fantastic. but dont try the ISO400 with 8mp. try 5mp with ISO200. some shot dont even need tripod. thier mega i.s.o is marvellous.

well... i use manual to shot ler... so i can adjust lots of things. if night shot i normally use f3-f3.8 and shuttle speed will be between 2 - 1/3. ISO i will remain it to 100 or 200... as i don't wanna make it over exposes.

unless u wanna shoot candle in total darkness... or else 400 should be good enough for night shot. but FZ300 seems to have some cons in 400ISO which i see lots of noise on the photo.

since FZ50 can do 1600ISO(with warning). u should tried it out in total darkness. this is how u learn to control ya setting.

oh yeah... sometimes high megapixel doesn't bring u any good to a great photo. so u might wanna consider not always set it to 10mp. a smaller mp will give u faster time for saving ya photo on card too.

lol... u know better than me. actually HIGH ISO depand on lens... that's most still or prosumer camera can not do.

i am really interested to see FZ50 high ISO photo. who know i might get FZ after that. maybe u should try 3mp quality with HIGH ISO.

sorry. ND +8 RM62 and macro +10 RM136. other than that i buy 2 together get 20 percent discount.

still waitting for my cpl multicode cost around RM190 only.

i still can order now if u want. since this weekend u going butterfly farm. maybe u can dropby there to collect. they open on sunday but closed on monday. thet just called me up said my filter arrived. well, i hate waitting.
