finding a drummer is easy.
whether hes free or not is the question.
cos usually he'll be tied to quite a few other bands.

finding a vocalist WITH image, now thats hard.

oh...
SLAYER and uhh iron maiden might be coming to singapore end of this yr.

there arent any epi LP with maple caps.
basically all flame tops you see are veneers.
and the regular sunbursts are alder caps.

but now notice how PRS are doing veneers and making it sound classy? tongue.gif

Hmm, so what's the benefit of using these pre-paid credit cards? You still got to have money first before you can actually use one. On the other hand, with a standard credit card, you don't even need to have money first, and after you bought something, you can take your time to pay it back, as long as you pay the minimal amount every month (with interest of course, still better than paying one short)

For online transactions, I never had any problems with paypal or credit cards (ordered some PS2 games from Play-Asia before)
*
well firstly obviously you dont need to be earning like 36k per annum to get one, well for the good cards at least.
i dont believe in owing anyway, and thats what a credit card does.
if i want something, i pay for it fully.

anyway, just reading up on the card's terms.
theres a RM3 monthly fee so RM36/yr, which is decent enough compared to annual fees of RM90 or so for certain other cards.
for international transactions, there is a foreign exchange/conversion fee of 1% from the value plus a RM1 charge added on per transaction, which again is decent enough.
roughly RM5 for every USD100.

pretty similar to a debit card, cept that the malaysian debit cards arent really recognized worldwide.
this one also allows you to withdraw your cash thru any ambank atms with zero charge, and you dont even need an ambank acc.

Since you got to have the money first to even use it, honestly, it makes the whole thing a little redundent.

Only benefit I can see here is

i) you don't have to carry a sh*t load of cash along if you want to get some expensive stuff
ii) it is a great alternative for other online transaction methods (western union, money order...etc)

I do agree about the not owing part though, being able to pay by installments(even better if interest free), even if you have the cash at hand, is a choice I will take everytime, cause we never know when we might need that money suddenly.

The way I look at credit card is, it is a great tool during emergencies.

well if i do use it, it wont be for local usage.
would be for ordering stuff from stewmac, topping up paypal so its easier to get stuff off ebay etc.

its lyn prob.
cos there is no prob loading other sites.

anyway, i have very strong reason to suspect the fake chinese les pauls have arrived in malaysia.
check this out.
http://members.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/Deta...oductID=3406685

he had a quick buy now of RM2200 which i put in, but of cos it wasnt approved.
i called twice and sms once to ask for the serial number, both times excuse of being outside and no reply.

the description also doesnt match the pic.
plus a search of ebay shows this is the latest fake les paul to be produced.
how to check?
search for gibson les paul, and sort by price: lowest first.

well the problem is.
yesterday afternoon we've already set a meeting at 5pm later today at wangsa maju.
but as of my last sms to request for the serial number last nite, there has been no reply.
i've called couple times today also to confirm the meet, no answer.

for those that dont know, gibson serial number tells you exactly what model and color the guitar is.
apart from of cos the date, day of production, which factory it came from.

and i've heard enough stories of les pauls from woh fatt not being anywhere near 100%.

nice
lespaul with 60's neck eh
i've yet to play with proper lespaul neck dimensions [sadly]

cuz lespaul classics supposed to have a 60's slim taper neck
but i played with the newer [2005 MIC] lespaul classics it feels exactly like a 50's neck
cuz its really rounded and fat .... lol
but my lp classic [2001 MIK] has a really slim neck =/

so im guessing epi really tembak the neck dimensions only -.-ll
*
i was actually talking about gibson tongue.gif
the epiphone LP necks are nowhere near as thick as a 50s gibson LP neck.
as for slim necks, the most comfortable neck would be the '61 reissue gibson SG tongue.gif

yea gibson necks in general only two different ones.
50s or 60s, but limited to the LPs.
my 70s SG has a completely different neck to the SG standard or even the '61 Reissue SG, its narrower but thicker.
'61 Reissue SG has the slimmest neck of all SGs, with its wide fingerboard it makes it very fast and comfortable.

ok, i've decided i'm going to *try* to like strats again.
so i'm thinking of getting a cheap one to begin my rehabilitation.
either the samick malibu mb-1 or the SX ash strat are my cheap options for RM500 or less.
mb-1 has some nice things going for it, duncan designed pickups, angled headstock, 3-a-side grovers (yea cant get out of my gibson mindset yet).
but the SX has an ash body, yummy tongue.gif

so does anyone have either of them?

at the other end of the price spectrum, i would go for the warmoth/stewmac option and just do a custom one, cept that would come up to easily almost RM3k or more, so i dont think so, cos at that price another gibson is better tongue.gif

and no, do not suggest squier cos to me the samick and SX are better quality.
and i feel the warmoth quality is easily better than some fenders out there.

the only thing im curious on the zakk lp is how the epi neck feels.
cos i know its not bare like the gibson one, i think theres a very thin coat of lacquer on it still right?

well i've read reviews that says it has a poly coat.
the gibson if i'm not mistaken is just satin oil finished.

either way i was thinkin of converting my epi lp custom to that way.
since its the exact same specs as the epi zakk anyway without the bullseye.
just wanna try it out first to see how its like.

speaking of pickups.
just found out that a SD Livewire is SGD125.
