I have bought a few items from moredesignasia.com. They have a small showroom in Kota Damansara. Their knock offs are very close to the real thing with reasonable qualities. Price is slightly cheaper than Timeless Design as i believe they keep their overhead cost low by focusing at online selling. 1 year warranty for manufacturer defect can give some peace of mind. Only thing is they collect 100% upfront and waiting period of about 1 month.

QUOTE(idoblu @ Nov 8 2013, 09:40 PM) Does their small showroom have most of their online stuff? Nope, coz their range is too extensive. Only open weekend so better give them a call if you want to visit.

QUOTE(PJusa @ Nov 22 2013, 10:54 AM) how content are you with the quality? what did you buy? care to share some real-life pics? i have been looking at many places in the past and so far the only two convincing contestants for very close replicas with good quality have been timeless and bauhaus with timeless winning for the things i want all the time because they have samples, their staff was more informed and in most cases their final price was less than bauhaus (sometimes by a lot). i have a bad feeling with buying from pictures when it comes to replicas due to the huge differences in production quality. the website is interesting though and the price suggests that the product could be good. COMPONIBILI and spoon bar chair - i have check out these two originals and their products are very close. Quality wise no issue. Hence i can only vouched for their plastic products. The reason i choose them is because they are friendlier and easier to ask for some discount compared to Timeless. This post has been edited by Chigme: Nov 22 2013, 02:25 PM

QUOTE(PJusa @ Nov 22 2013, 09:49 PM) ok thanks for the info - i know those pieces. which timeless store did you go to KL or Kepong? I always found Kepong staff very friendly. I am more into the leather chairs and stuff and there quality really differs by miles. for the plastic chairs (even some of the eames) the cheaper versions are pretty good. the real differences are mostly visible when it come to the woodwork, leather and surprisingly screws - the last eames office chair i looked at didnt even have the alluminium bar in the back fitted 100% straight. but then i am pretty picky with my copies I went to the KL store. Will definitely visit their Kepong store when i want to source for more furniture. For MoreDesign, i believe products that need finer workmanship for e.g. wood products still slightly below Timeless as their supplier in China need more improvement. However as their owner is already in the furniture industry (i heard base in Muar) for long time, i think those like sofas and leather stuff should be at par with Timesless as the upholstery is likely done in Malaysia.

QUOTE(idoblu @ Nov 24 2013, 01:27 PM) PJusaOkay went to the showroom. The Eames Lounge for Rm1800 is not close to the original but for those on a tight budget then it's ok. The recline angle is not as good as the "real" thing. The wood veneer is not real. They do have a normal range which is much closer and supposedly copied directly from a Herman Miller chair. After discount the aniline version is 3.2k. The Italian leather is cheaper at 3k. I think this is with the 20% discount offered now. One thing about the Eames lounge - there is no head rest Talk to Grace. She is good and helpful. Sale is on only at end of the year. Hi Idoblu, can elaborate on wood veneer is not real . Is there other fake product can make it look like wood veneer?
