eh guys.... got quickie questions to ask about coax cable...for digital output connection

wats the optimum length?

wats the MAX length?

if only 1 metre can use ah?

i remember reading somewhere that it should be 2 metres. no more no less.

okie...finally did a SPDIF RCA coaxial cable for use from my Maya44 soundcard to the ZERO DAC.

specs:
Canare LV-61S
Neutrik RCA (forgot model - has a black barrel, bought from forumer Grexer)
WBT Silver solder
Sleeved with funky shoelace
Shiny black heatshrink

found them around shopping malls here and there wan la.. there used be a stall in 1 Utama that sells alot of funky shoelaces...but closed down already

actually u can buy sleeving from the bulkers here.... nichalasteao sells them by the meter and i think moderno oso...

quality quite good oso wat....wont melt with heatshrink

L-4E6S = 4 core shielded cable
L-2T2S = 2 core shielded cable


so the L-4E6S would be better for a more universal application...

almost a year since the last post....so me bring it up again

its been almost a year since ive touched my soldering iron let alone make a cable...i was so rusty it took me 6 and a half hours to finish this RCA-RCA cable sheesh!

didnt turn out as nice as i'd hope.....but itll still work the same

astro to plasma...ur better off using s-video cable for the video signal

but u can make for the audio cable though....although i just dont think its really worth it.
