usb is buffered data transmission, cables wont make a difference, this is one project that depends on ones soldering skill than materials,,,,
any generic 4-core wires will do, ~2.50/mtr,,,,all d besh

Guys, in my previous post, I said I will be making a DIY Cable for PC to Amp connection (3.5mm to 6.35mm), problem is I couldn't find any audio cable in my town. Most I found is the Orange-Red colored speaker wire that comes with 4 wires sticked together, would that be okay to be used for my connections?
The wire looks something like this..


Btw, anyone here always buy things from Element14? How long does it normally arrives? The 6.35mm plug I found there is not available in the SG warehouse, but in US warehouse, will it take very long to reach me?
If the 3.5mm plug is from SG, and 6.35mm plug is from US, do they send them together or will be separated?

From US or SG both also same price for delivery right?? Now go the free delivery if I'm not mistaken..
What do you meant by too thick to be soldered?

*new flat cable design
*maintain star-quad cable design(8 cables:2 left, 2 right, 4 GND)
1. removed copper shield for better weight
2. removed some 3mm sleeve for thinner cable
3. re-solder for tighter connection between cable and 6.35mm plug

sound quality differ : lesser low frequencies, thinner sound, sub-bass disappeared =(

I don't know why, just removed the copper shield and the bass greatly disappeared. The male's voice doesn't sound thick anymore (this is the largest difference) . I need to mention that i didn't connect all (4 wires) to the GND last time, but connect both this time,would that make difference?

anybody know where i can buy those 3.5mm jack screw type?

im not an audiophile just that my 2.1 woofer cable had some issue. whenever i tried to use "normal" 3.5mm it had white noise when i plug it in.

but then when i use the original cable and solder the 3.5mm it work perfect but currently my termination is not good and it kept get loose.

so where can i find 3.5mm and im planning to use cat5 cable to it. is that an good idea?
