No change to UMI 18 & 48 I think.
But I can see this will eat into Postpaid U28 plan

Losing 50% of your talk time to load 80% more useless kitteh videos on youtube is the worst thing that can happen with umobile. Shame on U for shafting the entire customer base without conducting a survey on whether this plan will fit everyone's needs, shame on U!

oh yeah, about 5+5gb promo. to subscribe, it ends on 31st january rite? if i subscribed today, can enjoy the promo for 1 year? means i subscribed today, the promo will end 9 january 2015. correct? or it ends on 31st january 2014?

i used all my 2gb data from umi48 in 9days only. haha. so now i have no data. cannot subscribed to mb68 ka?? u mean expired, need to finish the data first,then subscribe mb68 OR need to wait till the 1 month period for umi48 finish? it ends on 1st february, but i used 1.83gb already..

it is not going to suit everyone.

ppl who use up 1gb of data, half their usage is on youtube vids and unnecessary surfing. A high percentage of these users would have kept these activities strictly with WiFi to save battery and have less frustration on loading times.

ppl who use up 80% of their talk time have useful things to do, any love talk or trashtalk is better done with whatsapp with emoticons and picture attachments, and these hardly take up any MB's a month.

here's my take on these changes,

Umobile knows that statistically, on average the talk time gets used up more often than data, and it is expensive to keep giving out more free calls than throwing out free data, since free data is hardly used up by the average consumer.

Why do you think Umobile is confident to throw out 1gb at everyone and take away 50% of talk time?

I will await the new postpaid plans and hopefully they don't continue shafting consumers like this.

Postpaid should award more value to LOYAL customers,

- customers who are willing to sign up with their personal details, name, email and physical address
- customers who are willing to authorise their bank accounts to pay Umobile automatically.
- customers who might get locked into Umobile for a couple of years due to laziness to move elsewhere after setting up everything.

*There's even a deposit fee of one month in advance to get Postpaid running*

The last time someone reason out to me it was cheaper for Umobile to service Prepaid than Postpaid customers, I mean wth?

If Postpaid gets massive improvements, I am pushing people around me to sign up.

When umobile value their postpaid customer? I cannot use RM128 broadband I paid every months... I only can use after midnight until 8am. When I can use, the speed really amazing but when cannot, even chat apps cannot connect.

isnt that ALL telcos doing that?

1) postpaid registration requires personal details --- MCMC requirements, except for email addy which u can skip or use fake. all telco doing that.

2) autopay -- a payment channel option. good for telco to easily collect payment, convenient for customers (who dont bother much on billing, e.g. U28 Postpaid customers which is literally minimum-maintenance plan ). this is an opt-in feature anyway. no force needed. also, all telco offering that too.

3) umobile postpaid got contract? since when? as far as i know, contract only kicks in when you get the phones. if you purely get the postpaid plans, you are free to terminate or MNP.

4) advance deposit aka forward charging (pay first, use later). no more like last time, use firs charge later. isnt all telcos are doing that now including Unifi? this is standard industry practice (not sure if ddirected by MCMC). no matter who you use the service, the telco will charge you such.
agree that Postpaid customers doesnt get much benefits compared to Prepaid. why? well, industry ratio for prepaid:postpaid is on average 80%:20% split. guess which portion they going to target?  answer: Prepaid customers.

also, prepaid  have very high churn rate (i.e. very volatile, churn anytime) compared to postpaid (tends to stay longer, less fussy).

guess which telco offers the most prepaid promos/freebies? answer: ALL of them.

guess which telco seldom offer postpaid promos/freebies? answer: ALL of them too!

it's easy to acquire these prepaid customers than postpaid (good for their management/exco numbers!). but it's difficult to retain prepaid customers, hence the need to keep giving freebies/promos just to target these prepaid segment.

prepaid industry is a war, especially there are so many telcos in malaysia alone. one telco's churned customer = other telco's acquired customer. rinse and repeat the process. 

prepaid customers, especially Malaysians, will always hunt for the best bargain (cheap plan, high quota, more voice minutes). where got such plan la. now umobile is probably affordable, next time sure got other telco offer competitive plans too. and the cycle repeats again, ppl churn from umobile and go for new promo.

How the connection near Sg Buloh area? I dont expect good ping or high speed, just wanted to know it is stable?

any QOS speed different between UMI18, UMI28, MB15 and MB40 plan in 3G/HSDPA area ?

I went to umobile today to terminate my line, but decide not to until end of the month. If I terminate today, I will be in losing side, there no bill pro-rated for termination after bill already come out. Better I use up my quota, just ask my sons to download whatever they want.

is there anyway to retrieve back my prepaid number? i late a few days to reload and they told me that my number has been terminated and unable to retrieve T_T

Ok if anyone want to convert to prepaid, better go there by the end of month..
I forgot when it is..maybe 23 above because, they still charge u for a month.
Then u ll get rm5 free for ur new prepaid plan.
Thats all.dont forget to bring ic and if u use other's ic, please bring the person also.
Like u registered the number using ur mother's.u have to bring ur mom's ic and also ur mom to sign.

That what I doing...  use up all my quota (20GB) and terminate. Actually terminated 3 hours ago. No need for me to do at the end of the month because I afraid to busy to go, end up getting charges full again when reach Feb.
