Please post your feedback regarding to our recently implemented tagging system!

Before asking, please do some background reading like:-
1) Read the announcement
2) Read the FAQ

Prefer a drop down menu then to use checkbox.
Also it'll be better if it's just next to the quick search box.

can you elaborate more? is it the Folding tag?

erm, this may sound stupid.. but how do i tag? or i can't tag myself (ie. it's the moderator job to tag a topic)

The tags are for the thread starters only.

For readers, there used to be the "star" feature like Gmail... Now that star feature sudah hilang.

I cannot tag my thread in garage sales > Handphones & related accessories..

Many people still dunno this.. so, after i use the tag in garage sales.. none appears..

ooo.. haha, i forgot the concept with flickr/del.icio.us and various site that implements tags - only owner can tag xD

well then, i do hope the thread starter will tag their topic accordingly and specifically.. (not just random words that didn't have any similarities with the topic)

just a suggestion since there's a few WTA threads appearing at kopitiam every now and then, perhaps you guys can add down an enquiry tag too, or does that fall under serious talk?

A drop down menu would be awkward to select multiple tags to be filtered.

We're currently working on the FAQs, so please be patient

You can basically tag your own thread by editing it or when you create a thread.

Looks like a good feature built!

1. RWI - all serious!
2. Joke Heaven - all Jokes!
Both just no tagging at all!

3. Kopitiam - This is serious, joke, craps all in one!

Actually, the tags would be very useful in RWI, where you can categorise topics into groups like Politics, News, Religious Issues, etc.

To improve visibility, you could add the SIZE="N" property to the <SELECT> to make it show all tags.

Does the tag only work on Lowyat Default Skin at the moment?

It's easy to use... I've just added it into my threads.. So, i can only see my own threads appear as " SELL " or others still haven't tag their thread?

Oh ok .. i found that i am the only one in handphones & related accessories section that uses the SELL tag...

I do agree with mate here! In addition, for other section like Handphone and Communication. How about ... something like filtered by phone tags => Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Philips, and etc. (Note: LG got its special section already).

okay.. since this is a feedback thread. i would like to post my view.

for garage sale.. why dun just add sub-forums for Selling, Buying, Inquiring respectively? this will greatly maintain the consistency of the whole marketplace section,while getting the noobs to post their items in the correct place.

just a question, is there a need to add this tagging feature in? (unless it allows user to filter these 'tag' when the user doing a search.. otherwise i see no picture adding it)

We didn't create tags just for garage sales. It allows greater flexibility than subforums, instead of forcing users to go to another subforum they can view multiple tags in the same page (i.e. viewing multiple subforums in the same page).

Searching by tags will be added in the future, I just don't have time for it now.

You do not have to tag your posts, only threads need to be tagged (and subsequently, only thread starters need to tag the thread once when they start it).

Chat is for those threads which are like Late Night Thread, MMU, NBTD, etc etc

Can make tags in garage sale to seperate the states such as KL, Penang, Johor, Ipoh, etc?

Easier to look for COD areas.

And can make the threads have multiple tags? So just in case if the person can do COD at Penang and KL also?

Suggestion for Gamers Hideout tags. How about having genres like RTS, Action, RPG, FPS, etc.? As well as Mods and Game Talk.

Why not change the PayPal tag to E-Currency or something similar? There's often e-gold sales popping up at the Garage Sales along with some MoneyBookers and some other e-currencies sales from time to time.
