Its supposed to be only the recovery but a lot of varied feedback. Well if you don't mind trying your luck then go ahead and do it la smile.gif.

Too late man. Already rooted, and tripped the KNOX counter. Oh well.

Hmmmn, it seems like newer base trips KNOX by simply rooting hmm.gif

mudkipryan94 please put this on the front page aye ?
*
Yeah. I used CF-Auto-Root.
Maybe coz i froze KNOX using TiBu?

QUOTE(ashwin988 @ Dec 9 2013, 10:54 AM)
Well don't worry that much. It should not be a big deal and custom roms really play a huge part in this phones battery life and usability. I would say its more of a gain then a loss smile.gif

You are also using the I9505, you have so many awesome roms compared to my sad i9500, if you didnt root, you are not using that phone to its full potential.. you have offical cm 11 as well smile.gif, i wish we had official cm11 on the i9500 that works well enough.. sigh..
*
Haha. Yeah. I know.
B4 this, with my S3 and Asus TF201, i rooted them just 1 month after buying. I used to always flash ROMs, Kernels, etc.
For this S4, i managed to hold back for almost 3 months. Now no more time to flash those stuffs, too busy. tongue.gif

Oh well. I'll just flash custom recovery then.
Which do u recommend? TWRP or CWM?

Guys, i9505 users,
What ROM ur using? Preferably stock-like ROM.
It seems that ARHD and Wanam stopped updating their ROMs. I liked them both when i had my S3.

Any other ROMs (deodexed, so that i can flash the extended power menu tongue.gif), that is good on battery life?

Suggestions please. TQ

Yessir, but why dont you just go to AOSP roms ? If you want it to be smooth and consume less RAM. But unused RAM is useless laugh.gif
*
Haha. True that!
AOSP eh? Hurm.

What do u recommend?
1. Official 4.4 - S4 Google Edition - v6.0-OTA - Feel the Experience of Nexus ?
2. Paranoid Android 3.99-RC2 ?
3. Slim Bean jfltexx ?

GPE - almost as stock as AOSP.
PA - there are tons of feauture, read them up.
SlimBean - idk lol, havent use it before.

I suggest go for GPE first thumbup.gif
*
Yeah. GE looks ok. No real bugs, except for the reported "random reboots".
I'll give it a try, when i'm free. sweat.gif

Edit: Should i just flash like normal?
I've KNOX tripped, and on XXUEMJ5.

Random reboots are a pain in the ass. Find something that doesnt have that. How bout PA?

And just flash it through any of your chosen recovery smile.gif
*
Now that i read the comments, many complained about reboots. Mostly when u off wifi, the reboots frequently happened. Haha.

PA, a lot of bugs. Bluetooth, compass, mobile network, network operator name, and camera HDR. laugh.gif

I just want a fast, and deodexed ROM, so that i can flash extended power menu. tongue.gif

+1

The coating really good. Really reduce the smudges compared to regular screen protector. The glass feel is just excellent, don't think i can come back to normal screen protector after using the tempered glass. wub.gif

Just hope i can use it for a long time cause the price  shocking.gif  rclxub.gif
*
Same dude!
The quality is so good! And the best part is, i'll never have to worry about scratches.
Multiple times i put my key with my phone in my pocket yet no scratches at all.

QUOTE(chaics85 @ Dec 9 2013, 07:37 PM)
is there any cheaper alternatives? and according to iphone users in i thread, none suggested SGP tempered glass cos overrated, quality not good & expensives.. hmm.gif
*
Got a few, but i cant remember.
True, it's quite expensive. I was quite hesitant to buy at 1st, but now i've no regrets.

why dont you try something less heavy first, maybe those roms that have slim versions available. there are quite a few such as echoe slim or goldeneye or even GE 4.3. better to avoid buggy roms based on kitkat 4.4 if you need your phone stable all the time.

i've used GE 4.3 since october, very stable and smooth but the camera is lacking quite a few features compared to samsung stock camera. now I'm testing goldeneye v14 without any samsung bloatware, not bad..

here is a link to a list of roms for I9505.

custom roms
*
Woooo. How come i didn't find that thread! THANKS!

Define 'heavy'?
I've read Goldeneye and Echoe ROMs, are they good?

Im using i9500 bro. I heard that, KK4.4 based roms for i9505 are buggy, so avoid them at all cost for now.
*
Nah. Not looking into buggy ROMs anyways. Just a stable, fast ones. Customisable battery icon is a plus. Other than that, not much.

since u need a fast and stable rom why not try GE 4.3? not the latest or greatest but the download size is very small around 400MB, even 300MB if you look around closely (v1.5 CoOoL_BoY). just remember you wont get any samsung features such as air gesture etc...
*
Hurm. I always use that. How about GOLDENEYE?

goldeneye is based on TW minus the bloat. personally I like it coz the relatively small DL size compared to other TW-based roms. also its quite stable, haven't had a single random reboot nor FC since flashing v14 two weeks ago. have not tried version 15 yet tho..
*
Then it's good enough for me. notworthy.gif

I was about to flash PhoeniX ROM v6.2, but since it's 'heavy' (which is true, 2GB!), then i'll go for goldeneye.

Just installed Phoenix ROM.
Loving it! rclxm9.gif

Though it uses a lil bit more RAM (before flashing 700mb free, after 400mb), it's quite snappy.
The "transition animation" bug of course fixed since it uses newer build.
Other than that, nothing much.
