A lot of people misunderstand the term life time warranty. It doesn't mean that the company will offer unlimited warranty for life. Lifetime warranty for a products simply means the lifetime of a particular products which could be 2-3 years after taking in consideration normal wear and tear from daily usage. It is never meant to last a lifetime and no company will ever dare to provide such warranty. So lifetime warranty means lifetime of a product and it's very subjective.

The quality is amazing with really great workmanship...just like the ori but I think the front smart case fits better than the original Smart case by Apple. The iPad Air fits perfectly in the case. This is the Hotgo one I ordered last month. Still haven't use it as my current once is very nice and light. So I will keep it as spare.

The third party smart case I bought from taobao is made from real leather as described. So far from the look of it, it indeed is like the real thing. Most user who bought it are saying the same thing thing. I just have to wait and still how it hold up over time.

I have the Hotgo for the ipad Air. Very stable in landscape mode but not so in Portrait mode

I just started to use the Hotgo case I bought few weeks ago. Wow....it's really a very solid case for the iPad Air. The built quality is very very good and the material use give a very premium feels too. The material used on the back case is very solid and high quality and it snaps on firmly and perfectly on the iPad Air. The front cover is made of some synthetic material and it feels great. The same material is use on both the inside and outside of the front cover and it should be easy to clean as oppose to a lot of case using microfiber material on the inside which gets dirty very easily. Feels a bit heavier than the case I have been using, but again the quality of my other case is not as solid as the Hotgo. The magnet is very strong and hold the case up firmly.

The case stand firmly on the upright landscape position for surfing and movie watching....hardly any movement at all no matter how hard you try to shake it.

Turn it around for typing mode is really solid too. You and adjust from 0 - 40 deg in typing mode.

It can also be use in portrait mode at 45 deg only and it's not as stable in this position as it will tip backward if you press too hard on the screen.

For less than RM100 for this case it's hard not to be impress by it.

Highly recommended.

The Apple Smartcase is really a good case. I help my sister order one from taobao which is not the original but quality just as good. What I like about the Apple Smartcase is that the back case offer very solid protection to the iPad's side and back. Then I order a 0.2mm tempered glass SP for her and now she have great all round protection for her iPad Air.

I don't have the weight but the Smartcase is quite light compare to Hotgo. The 0.2mm tempered glass sp will add a little weight but not much. In the end you have to decide how much protection you want on your iPad Air. For me iPad Air with Smartcase plus 0.2mm glass SP offers solid all round protection at a very good weight trade off.

ipad 3 will be obsolete in a year or two. If you are not using any SP now, I won't bother to put any sp on now. Just use it naked as the feeling is the best when naked. After all it won't really scratch that easily.
