I have an extra DSL-2640B router given by TM lying around. The router that I am currently using is also a TM DSL-2540B. Is it possible to use it as an access point? If so, what are the steps that needs to be done?

I want to set it up at the second floor of my house to gain better signal coverage.

Hope to hear from u guys soon. Thanks in advance.

Yes you can, it's very simply but it's a wired access point not that WDS kind.

1) First you reset your extra 2640B
2) Then you login and disable LAN DHCP and set the IP of the router to a client IP of your 2540B let say 192.168.1.254 if it's not in use.
3) Then configure the WiFi setting
4) Plug a config from LAN port (2540B) to a LAN port (2640B) and place in on ur second floor
5) Turn the power on, up and running and you're good to go

2 and 3 must be done via LAN to your PC or it may get messy.
