personally i like black more than blue..bt i scare if i gt red..its  too lighter..lol
*
if you like black, then i presume u like heavier keys, and hence no reason to go for reds.
where do u stay? maybe u can meet up with other mkb user here to try out their keyboards or if u're in KL, u can drop by in czone or heavyarms to try out.

To ikbc 104 owners, it seems to have new firmware update to lower the over bright indicator LEDs.

BTW, to all iKBC F-104 users, it is time to update the firmware. Now no more the overkilling bright indicator LEDs + got USB NKRO. brows.gif

Pretty easy, files can be get from here.
http://pan.baidu.com/s/144OFl#dir/path=%2F...%9B%BA%E4%BB%B6

Basically, what you need is the ikbcblablabla.exe and one of the firmware (I choose the 10.9 one, since that one the most complete).

After download them, rename all those files and apps to english or numbers, so no chinese characters, and you can start flashing the firmware.

Click the ... and select the bin firmware files, later press download and tada, it is done.

thanks so much. that num lock, scroll lock and caps lock blue led can flashbang u to death.
tonight i try tongue.gif

i can't recall but someone said Vintage Black with 55g spring are lighter then stock red.

i think this is gonna be my next switch for custom as well or not just stick with ergo + 62g spring
*
i've tried clear with 62g...that's quite an insta wub.gif but i guess the thick alu casing contributes to the sexy feeling as well biggrin.gif
tips i got from kaiserreich, avoid acrylic casing, as it will give u less satisfying typing feeling compared to stock casing.

oh. but acrylic casing is nice when you have full LED on your board.

eh how was A.87? i kinda blur actually reading it in GH
*
i suppose acrylic casing = nice to see but not nice to type, more expensive than stock, but cheaper than aluminium case
stock casing = ok to see, ok to type, no need spend extra money
aluminium casing = nice to see, nice to hold, once scratched, your heart ache like mad with your wallet crying when you bought it.

wat is it about a.87 that u aren't sure about?

i only saw you and Ainuddin post at there..

oh, this GB got due date right?
*
haha...so far over here can see only me n ainuddin appears interested, but pretty sure there will be submarine A87 user wan tongue.gif

kaiserreich had experience with the older version of a.87. according to him, the previous versions doesn't have SMD diodes soldered. so u need to get your own SMD diodes, switches, leds, and resistors for the leds. and soldering smd is quite a b****.
so far from what we can see in gh, sprit mentions that all of it are presoldered. just need to know if that includes resistors as well or not.

oh wow.. that's alot of things. how much budget do you have for this?
*
i have them switches ready already which i harvested from a faulty board.
getting leds from taobao since i just saw some new ice blue leds appearing in some taobao store brows.gif
and i'm preparing to ikat perut for the metal case if it's nice and appealing to my eyes.
otherwise, i'll slowly save again for other case while getting the pcb first.

and i just found out that blue switches from different brand of boards have varying spring force @.@
varying force from 45-58g just for blue switch alone.

My SOS

There's some sort of metal paty that helps to smoothen scratched surface for metallic surface for car, i assume it might help too in case ur alu kb case is scratched lol.
*
i'm not too sure about that. i wouldn't be spending time searching/reading about it unless i actually own an aluminium case tongue.gif
