QUOTE(Fiona Chin @ Dec 12 2013, 01:16 PM)
How you become your manager's manager? Your boss's boss? Should be managing a group of managers right?
Titles in banks are meaningless for now. When I joined fresh from school, my title was assistant manager, so much different from the job scope of assistant manager now. Job is to oversee the department for my boss who only come in once or twice a month. 30+ people, some AVPs and some VPs.

Banks in the old days will come out and grab those high performing people and start grooming them in a different way than normal employees. You will notice a different job opportunities. For fresh grads, they look for scholars/medalists, once you are scholars then the corporate ladder become a lift, with lift operator inside asking you which floor. Some titles are created for interim position. I was "parachuted" into the dept, no assistant manager position exist before that. They are preparing for the take over of my boss's position for me, so the temporary title and the position disappear after my promotion. 5 years bond, NCC for 6 months, but hefty sign on bonus rclxm9.gif .

Wow. Too bad I don't have the relevant qualities for the high performance lifts sad.gif
Anyway, thanks for your input.

As a rule of thumb, just replace VP with Manager and you're pretty much in the ball park in terms of cross referencing to non-bank MNCs.

AVP - AM
VP - M
SVP - SM
Dir - Dir
MD - Snr Dir
"Head of"... something significant (ie. not kuchifart) like Cards, or Private/Consumer/Business Banking - VP

Ahh. Thanks!

your description is very generic for IT field. is it pc/desktop support?
if the offer is 1:1 to your malaysia pay, then looks ok but different people have different spending habits.

ThanatosSwiftfire financial report does not have crunch time during financial year end?
*
Well, I don't know, but after that many years it's about time I get some commercial experience, instead of being holed up thinking I'm all high and mighty in an audit firm. (besides, it's a dead end road.. better walk before the pay gets too high and I can't accept a paycut)

Is it illegal for an individual with a social visit pass to stay at a friend's place who rent the room with a valid pass ? Initially, we rent the place together but currently I am in a job hunting mode.
*
As long as you're on a valid social pass, it's fine.

ANYWAY, HAPPY NEW YEARS GUYS! STAY OUT OF MBS! It's gonna get SUPER PACKED

Strangely, even if I convert to singaporean, I feel that the locals will never accept me as one of their own.

aww shucks. it's kinda steep to rent an entire unit imo. the newer units along jalan membina is epicly pricey.
